NBA FanDuel Value Plays: (Monday 3/20)
Welcome to the Monday edition of the NBA FanDuel value plays. This article will focus on the seven-game main slate on FanDuel. As always, be sure to pay attention to news around the league prior to the lineup lock time. Let’s go ahead and take a look at my favorite value options for tonight.
Jameer Nelson (DEN): $5,500 at HOU
Nelson had a huge game just the other night against the Rockets with 15 points, seven rebounds, 11 assists and a steal. Nothing has changed since Saturday night, so there really is no reason to believe that Nelson won’t succeed this time around. Just like the other night, this game currently has the highest projected total score on the entire slate and the Nuggets have the third-highest team total. This is definitely a game you want to have high exposure to and Nelson is solid option to get cheap exposure. At the moment, Nelson is the only cheap point guard who I am targeting tonight at the moment.
Tim Hardaway Jr. (ATL): $5,600 at CHA
The Hawks will be starting Hardaway Jr. over the next 7-10 days while Kent Bazemore sits out. As you may recall, Hardaway had some huge games in January and February when he got an extended run while players were out with injuries. If he sees more than 30 minutes, his ceiling could very well be over 40 FanDuel points and still have a pretty safe floor. The matchup is the most ideal against the Hornets, but Hardaway should still be a solid cash game option at the very minimum.
Evan Fournier (ORL): $5,400 vs. PHI
Fournier bounced back from a poor performance against the Warriors with a nice performance against the Suns on Friday night, scoring 32.6 FanDuel points. Other than the dud against the Warriors last week, Fournier has been a pretty safe cash game option at a position that usually does not have much to offer. Tonight he has a solid matchup against the 76ers, who are near the bottom of the league in allowing FanDuel points to opposing shooting guards.
Joe Ingles (UTA): $4,200 at IND
Right now Rodney Hood is listed as being questionable for tonight’s game against the Pacers. If he is unable to suit up tonight, Ingles will once again draw the start. Ingles has been pretty solid while filling in for Hood, with at least 20.8 FanDuel points in each of his last three games. If you need the extra $300 in savings, Joe Johnson is also in play tonight. Keep in mind though that if we get news that Hood is playing, neither of these guys should be considered for your lineup tonight.
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (CHA): $5,100 vs. ATL
Small forward is pretty ugly tonight in terms of value at the small forward position with Joe Ingles and Joe Johnson being the only two value options who I really love. While I cannot give a ringing endorsement for tonight, he is someone you can use if small forward is the last spot you need to fill and you have a little over $5,000 to spend. Over his last four games, MKG has had at least 23.2 FanDuel points in all but one game. Tonight’s matchup is not terrible against the Hawks, so he should not kill your cash game lineup if you choose to use him.
Ersan Ilyasova (ATL): $4,500 at CHA
Paul Millsap will miss another game, which means that Ilyasova will draw another start at power forward for the Hawks. Ilyasova started on Saturday night and did not disappoint with 34.3 FanDuel points against the Trail Blazers. His matchup tonight against the Hornets is not nearly as juicy. However, we saw Ilyasova be a safe option while on the 76ers when he started to start games for them.
Juancho Hernangomez (DEN): $3,700 at HOU
The Nuggets announced that Wilson Chandler and Danilo Gallinari will both miss another game tonight against the Rockets. Juancho got the start the other night in the same situation against the same team and put up 23.5 FanDuel points in 28 minutes of action. Similar to Nelson, not much has changed for tonight’s scenario so I do not see any hesitation with firing up Hernangomez once again.
Clint Capela HOU): $5,300 vs. DEN
Capela put up another solid performance on Saturday night against the Nuggets with 16 points, eight rebounds, a block and a steal. He has the same matchup tonight and assuming he does not get into foul trouble against Nikola Jokic, there is no reason to believe he will fail to reach value at this salary.
