FanDuel MLB Lineup Advice: Thursday (4/20) PREMIUM
I’d like to reintroduce an MLB DFS lineup construction method that I wrote about last season that I like to call “Suited Connectors,” to steal a poker term. Translated to DFS, this is a lineup construction method where you use a few mini-stacks of two or three hitters from a team that are only one or two spots away from each other in a lineup. By spreading out your lineup into three or four mini-stacks you get some of the upside that a stack can bring while giving you some safety of having a diversified lineup.
This type of lineup construction can work well in Cash games and also allows you to construct a GPP lineup that might be made up of highly owned players but still be contrarian and unique because it is comprised of mini-stacks instead of full team stacks. Another benefit is it opens up using the pitcher from any one of your stacked teams, which I am not using in today’s lineup, but is a solid GPP differentiation strategy. My lineup for Thursday night’s seven-game slate utilizes this lineup construction method. Give my lineup a try or come up with your own favorite “Suited Connectors” to build a lineup tonight.
As always, be sure to pay close attention to the lineups when they are released and monitor the weather leading up to game time.
James Paxton (SEA): $9,000 @ OAK
You are going to want to pay up for one of the pitchers at $9,000 or up on Thursday as there is a pretty significant drop-off. Paxton has been nothing short of phenomenal so far this season twirling 21 consecutive shutout innings over his first three starts of the season including a 29.3% strikeout rate. He will face an Athletics’ team in pitcher-friendly Oakland that has just a .273 wOBA and 80 wRC+ against lefties so far this season after ranking in the bottom seven in both categories last year. Fire up Paxton and ride the hot streak.
