Point Guard

Russell Westbrook (OKC): $13,500 @ PHO
Westbrook missed his record-breaking triple-double in his last game by one rebound. Had he grabbed that one rebound and broke the record for all-time triple-doubles in a season, I would be fading him tonight, but because he missed it, he becomes a near must play — even at his price. The Suns are bottom five in points allowed to the point guard position and they play at the highest pace of any team in the league. All that bodes well for Westbrook.

Ish Smith (DET): $5,600 @ HOU
The Pistons are not “officially” eliminated from playoffs, though their chances are quite bleak, but even with the slightest of chances, don’t expect Stan Van Gundy and the Pistons to throw in the towel. In what should be a “pace up” game for the Pistons, Smith should have no problem returning value tonight against a Rockets team that gives up 43.52 FanDuel points per game to opposing point guards.

Shooting Guard

Devin Booker (PHO): $8,100 vs OKC
Booker and the Suns have been out of playoff contention since the All-Star break, but the Suns are looking to their future and Booker figures to be a prominent piece. Despite how their season has gone, Booker has been the lone bright spot. Over his last seven games, he has averaged a 30 percent usage rate. The Suns will give Booker the green light to shoot it everytime he touches the ball.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (DET): $4,300 @ HOU
Caldwell-Pope was expected to miss the entire game against the Raptors in the Pistons last contest, but he ended up showing up in the second quarter and playing 17 minutes. That tells me, in a day and age when players take rest days, that Caldwell-Pope is dedicated to playing basketball. He could have easily taken the day off, but he didn’t, and while his team’s hopes to make the playoffs are thin, he will likely log heavy minutes Friday in an attempt to slow down James Harden and the Rockets. At $4,300, he could be a steal if he can come out and play some inspired basketball.

Small Forward

Gordon Hayward (UTA): $7,800 vs MIN
The Jazz are currently only a half-game up on the Clippers for the fourth spot in the West — and home-court advantage — meaning they still have a lot to play for. Hayward is really the only true offensive threat the Jazz have when it comes to being able to create his own shot, and his usage rate has gone up over his season average over the last few games as they try to secure the four seed.

Taurean Prince (ATL): $4,200 @ CLE
Thabo Sefolosha is expected to miss another game, leaving some extra playing time for Prince who has played well of late. One would think the Cavs would be a top team in defending the small forward position with LeBron James as the primary defender, but that is simply not the case. The Cavs are bottom four in points allowed to small forwards on the year.

Power Forward

Channing Frye (CLE): $3,700 vs ATL
Tristan Thompson will miss his second game in a row, likely opening the door for Frye to get another start. At his depressed price of $3,700, Frye should have no trouble giving you a good return on your investment as he only needs 18 FanDuel points to hit the coveted five times value.

Larry Nance Jr. (LAL): $4,300 vs SAC
The Lakers are another one of those teams like the Suns that have nothing to play for but want to see their young assets in action. Nance had over 30 FanDuel points in his last two games and was one rebound away in San Antonio from posting back-to-back double-doubles. Tonight he gets a much easier matchup with the Kings who are bottom five in defending the power forward position.

Center

Hassan Whiteside (MIA): $8,500 @ TOR
I don’t think I’ve recommended Mr. Whiteside all year, so I figured tonight would be the night. The Heat are still fighting for a playoff spot and positioning, meaning they are going to need Whiteside to be his normal dominant self on both offense and defense, and I think he will do just that. Dominate.
