Tonight’s roster below features the top pitching option on the slate, and he’s priced accordingly. Interestingly, the hitter pricing is soft enough to surround said ace with a strong lineup of boppers and a pricey SP2. The group as a whole has a chalky feel and makes for a better cash game team than GPP one, but the upside warrants sticking it in a GPP or multiple GPPs, too. In the interest of giving you the opportunity to slightly tweak this to a GPP build, I’ll include some likely low-owned honorable mentions.

Pitcher
Chris Sale (BOS): $12,500 vs. Orioles
I’m not sure it’s possible for Sale to have made a better impression on Red Sox Nation than he has out of the gate. He’s flat out embarrassing opponents with a 1.19 ERA (1.16 FIP, 2.09 xFIP, and 2.07 SIERA), 0.77 WHIP, 4.3 BB%, and 37.4% K% through five starts spanning 37.2 innings. Among qualified pitchers in 2017, the southpaw ranks third in WHIP, second in ERA, FIP, and swinging strike percentage (17.0% SwStr%) and first in strikeout rate, xFIP, and SIERA. Sale and the Red Sox are sizable -240 favorites against the Orioles, per Pinnacle, so don’t be intimidated by the game’s over/under total of 9 runs. The matchup with the O’s is a good one for Sale. This year, Baltimore ranks 17th in wRC+ (89) against lefties, according to FanGraphs, and they have the second highest strikeout rate (26.4% K%). Baltimore’s propensity for punch outs not only elevates Sale’s already sky-high ceiling, but it also bumps up his floor — which helps separate him from the honorable mention options.
