Welcome to Monday edition of the FanDuel MLB value plays. We have a decent 10-game slate to work with tonight on FanDuel. As always, be sure to check out the weather and team lineups throughout the day. Let’s go ahead and take a look at my favorite value options for tonight.

Pitcher
Trevor Cahill (SD): $7,200 vs. SD
Cahill has pitched pretty well through five starts in 2017, with an 11.10 K/9 and a 2.60 FIP. Tonight he has a decent matchup at home against the Rangers. The Rangers’ offense has a lot going against them since they will be losing the DH and they have an extreme negative park shift going to Petco Park. On top of that, they have struggled over the past two weeks, with only a 92 wRC+ and a high 26.9% K%.
Catcher
Yasmani Grandal (LAD): $2,900 vs. PIT
Grandal has been pretty quiet since he hit two home runs on Opening Day, but he has been making solid contact with a 40.0% hard contact rate against right-handed pitchers. Tonight he has a great matchup against Trevor Williams of the Pirates. Williams will be making his first start of the season, but he has really struggled with his command out of the bullpen with a 5.40 BB/9.
First Base
Kendrys Morales (TOR): $2,900 vs. CLE
Morales has struggled so far as a Blue Jay, but he did hit two home runs on Friday night. The Blue Jays will be returning to their hitter-friendly park, and they have a decent matchup against Trevor Bauer tonight. Bauer has really struggled through his first five starts this season with a 4.00 BB/9, a 4.92 FIP. He has also allowed a hard contact percentage of 41.0%.
Second Base
Jed Lowrie (OAK): $2,300 vs. LAA
Lowrie has been a serviceable punt option this season since he is cheap, has been hitting in the two-hole and actually has been pretty productive. Lowrie currently has a 0.370 wOBA against right-handed pitchers in 92 plate appearances. He has an excellent matchup tonight against Ricky Nolasco, who has allowed quite a bit of hard contact in his first six starts this season.
Third Base
Wilmer Flores (NYM): $2,300 vs. SF
Flores is an excellent source of value at the hot corner tonight, since he typically hits in the middle of the order for the Mets against left-handed pitchers. Flores has always done pretty well against lefties with a career 0.358 wOBA and a 0.250 ISO.
Shortstop
Troy Tulowitzki (TOR): $3,000 vs. CLE
Value at shortstop is pretty ugly tonight, and it is probably a spot where I’m going to pay up. If you do go the value route, I don’t recommend going cheaper that Tulowitzki at $3,000. Tulo is expected to return from his DL stint. I already mentioned how Bauer has struggled this season and that includes against right-handed hitters.
Outfielders
Tommy Pham (STL): $2,000 at MIA
Pham has really taken advantage of his opportunity while Dexter Fowler and Stephen Piscotty have been injured. In his first three starts, Pham has three home runs and six hits in 12 at-bats. Tonight he has an excellent matchup against Adam Conley, who has really struggled so far in 2017.
Joey Rickard (BAL): $2,000 vs. WAS
Ever since Rickard has come off of the DL in late April he has been destroying the ball with a 0.345 batting average in 30 at-bats. He does strike out quite a bit, but it is hard to be too critical of someone who is the bare minimum on FanDuel and normally hits at the top of the batting order against left-handed pitchers.
Joc Pederson (LAD): $2,900 vs. PIT
Pederson returned from the disabled list on Friday night against the Padres. I already mentioned how we can pick on Williams and Pederson is a great option to use in GPPs since he has multiple home run upside.
