Daily Pitcher Overview 6/29 (Start/Sit, Streamers, DFS)

Every day, I get a dozen start/sit questions about the day’s pitchers and plenty of streaming questions. I have been using a simple sit/start algorithm on my own teams for a handful of years so I’ll run each option through it to give you the quick answer you are looking for. I’ll also give some insight on my favorite streaming option of the day as well as my top DFS cash game and GPP play.

Top Streamer

Jaime Garcia (ATL @ SDP)

While the Padres are better against lefties than they are against righties, there is a good rule of thumb to live by in the season-long streaming game: Never miss a chance to start a decent pitcher against San Diego at Petco Park. Garcia is nothing special and won’t pile up the strikeouts, but you better believe he will help your ratios tonight and has a solid chance at notching you a win as well.

Top DFS Cash Game Option

Clayton Kershaw (LAD @ LAA)

If you want to be part of the bold 20% who will fade the clear top play of the night, be my guest, but I won’t be joining you. No, I don’t think he is the best pitcher in baseball anymore, but even at his price tag, you play him against a crummy lineup like the Angels. The Win and Quality Start are as close to a lock as you’ll see all season and he could surpass 10 Ks once again this evening.

Top DFS Tournament Option

Jameson Taillon (PIT vs TBR)

Both Brad Peacock and Kershaw make sense here as well, but they figure to be more popular plays than Taillon, who will see minimal ownership thanks to his matchup against Chris Archer. Taillon has been solid enough since returning, that if his offense can give him the run support, he could pick up the win and quality start, which with 7 IP and 7 Ks would put him at 50-59 fantasy points all for a nice price of $8,300 on FanDuel and $7,500 on DraftKings.

Start/Sit Table

Guide

*All stats based on our daily projections
OWN – ownership % between ESPN and Yahoo!
Score – Based on an algorithm that weighs if their ratios are too high to offset the odds of them getting a win and add strikeouts to your team totals
Recommendation – For Roto and H2H season-long leagues
DFS Cash – Not based on value, but performance only. Heavily favors ratios and odds at getting the win and quality start
DFS GPP – Not based on value, but performance only. Built to focus more on strikeout potential and stamina
*The table is sorted by their season-long fantasy appeal
