Pitcher

Zack Godley (ARI): $8,800 vs. STL
Godley continues to impress for the Diamondbacks, and he will have a good chance to keep it rolling at home tonight against the Cardinals. St. Louis ranks 12th in terms of wRC+ on the season against right-handed pitching, but they’ve fared slightly worse over the last 30 days (19th). Godley does a good job generating ground balls (59.9%), and he’s also got a decent strikeout rate (8.21 K/9). To wrap it all up, the Diamondbacks should provide him with enough run support for a win as well, as they will face Adam Wainwright this evening.

Masahiro Tanaka (NYY): $8,300 @ CWS
Oh boy, here we go. Tanaka’s price is ripe for the pickings, especially given the matchup, but we all know he can be prone to blowups every now and then. The White Sox have struck out 23% of the time against right-handed pitching, and they have ranked in the bottom third of the league for most of the season in terms of wRC+. Tanaka has been great in regards to racking up strikeouts over his last three starts, and as long as he can avoid the long ball, he is in a great spot to keep that success going on the road.

Other Notables

Catcher

Salvador Perez (KCR): $3,800 @ DET
Perez and the Royals have fared much better as a team against lefties over the past month, and they will face a mediocre one in Daniel Norris tonight. Norris’ hard contact rate allowed to right-handed hitters sits above 40% this season, and Perez is in a great spot to take advantage of this. Over his last 10 games, Perez sports a .361 AVG and a 1.107 OPS, leaving him feeling a bit cheap given his recent success.

Other Notables

First Base

Miguel Cabrera (DET): $3,500 vs. KC
I get that Cabrera has been cold lately (.158 AVG over last 10 games), but this almost feels like stealing. Cabrera hit a three-run homer last night, and he could very well hit another tonight against a fly ball pitcher in Ian Kennedy. Kennedy isn’t missing many bats, and he’s struggling with command as well. This is a phenomenal chance to buy Cabrera at a low price.

Other Notables

Second Base

Ian Kinsler (DET): $4,300 vs. KC
I’m not going to shy away from picking on Ian Kennedy tonight, so this is a good spot to utilize Kinsler as part of a Detroit stack. The Tigers have an implied team total of five runs, and this should lead to plenty of opportunities for Kinsler to produce. Kennedy’s hard contact rate allowed to right-handed hitters sits at 35.5% this season, and he’s been homer-prone as a result, so I expect some fireworks from the Tigers’ bats as a result.

Other Notables

Third Base

Jake Lamb (ARI): $4,900 vs. STL
Lamb will hold the platoon advantage over Adam Wainwright this evening, and he’s a great option across all formats at this price. The Diamondbacks’ cleanup hitter continues to thrive, as he’s posted a .324 AVG over his last 10 games, including a home run. Arizona has an implied run total of five, so I expect them to do some damage against Wainwright and the Cardinals.

Other Notables

Shortstop

Alcides Escobar (KCR): $2,600 @ DET
Don’t look now, but Escobar has been rewarding the Royals’ patience with him, as he’s collected 12 hits (.333 AVG) over his last 10 games. He even added a stolen base over that span, which is encouraging to see. I don’t have much faith in Daniel Norris tonight, so targeting a cheap hitter who has been playing much better as of late seems to make sense.

Other Notables

Outfielders

George Springer (HOU): $5,200 vs. OAK
Hahn has been tough against same-handed hitters, but he also doesn’t face the top offense every start either. Springer continues to rake, as he hit his second straight home run last night, giving him five over the last 10 games. Springer is a top option across all formats due to leading off for a potent offense who has an implied run total pushing six tonight.

Justin Upton (DET): $4,400 vs. KC
Upton rounds out my trio of Detroit hitters tonight, and I love this spot for him despite not having the platoon advantage. Upton can be strikeout prone at times, but he isn’t facing an overpowering pitcher, so I’m not too concerned about that tonight.

Lorenzo Cain (KCR): $3,800 @ DET
Cain is locked in at the plate right now, as he’s hitting .343 over his last 10 games, including two home runs. He’s also swiped two bases over that span, which just enhances his value. Cain sports a .380 wOBA/.213 ISO against lefties over the past couple of seasons, making him a strong standalone play or as part of a Royals’ stack.
