FanDuel PGA Value Plays: FedEx St. Jude Classic

FanDuel PGA Value Plays: FedEx St. Jude Classic

Bombs away in Memphis at TPC Southwind for the St. Jude Classic. We’ve got some big bombers and seasoned veterans on the lineup for the week. Last year’s winner Daniel Berger did not find his way onto this edition of Value Plays, but there are some sneaky players who are poised to win you some money this weekend.

Brooks Koepka ($10,100)
This is Koepka’s tournament. Koepka has played this event three times and boasts a scoring average of 68.17 at TPC Southwind. He has one Top 20, one Top 5 and a second place finish last year at this event. TPC Southwind is a long course, so having Koepka who is 5th in average driving distance at 307.2 is not a bad idea. If you are not already convinced, the Florida State product has two second-place finishes this year, so this is bound to be his breakthrough week.

Harris English ($6,500)
The long hitters are going to be targeted this week at the Par 70, 7,244 yard TPC Southwind. That is why my next pick is English. The 6’3” golfer has fallen off the scene a little bit, but he has the opportunity to bounce back at a course he is rather familiar with. English eclipsed his first win on the PGA Tour at this event in 2013 and made the cut in 2014 and 2015. Although English is known for his distance, this season he has putted surprisingly well. After having a Top 30 finish at the Dean & DeLuca Invitational, it looks as if he will be ready to fire another low 72 hole score at TPC Southwind.

Seung-yul Noh ($6,400)
Another player that is inside the Top 50 in driving distance on the PGA Tour, Seung-yul Noh. Noh missed the cut at the AT&T Byron Nelson and withdrew after one round at the Dean & DeLuca Invitational, but finished T22 at the Players and T5 at the Wells Fargo Championship this season. It’s been a very hot and cold last month of golf for the South Korean, but Noh will be licking his chops at the sight of TPC Southwind. Noh has played very well at this course, with a scoring average of 68.64 in his four times at the event. Noh has one Top 5 and two Top 10s, including a seventh-place finish last year. Someone to really keep an eye on this week.

Ben Crane ($5,600)
My super sleeper for the week is Ben Crane. Crane has been nothing special this year with two Top 25s and 12 out of 17 cuts made. However, Crane’s history with the St. Jude Classic is too hard to pass up. Crane has played this event 11 times and has only missed the cut once. He also has two Top 15s, one Top 10, and one victory. Hopefully knowing how well he plays at this event will give the 41-year-old a little pep in his step. Give Crane a chance this week.
