Daily Pitcher Overview 7/19 (Start/Sit, Streamers, DFS)

Today, all 15 teams are playing, but nearly half of them will be in early games so make sure to add your streamers on the early side. There are a few decent options to choose from if you are searching the waiver wire, and many more startable pitchers than a usual day. Make sure to check out the start/sit recommendations at the bottom and good luck if you are playing DFS tonight.

Top Streamer

R.A. Dickey (ATL vs CHC)

Don’t look now, but over the past 30 days, Dickey has been pitching like one of the top arms in baseball again. During that time, his 1.09 ERA is second in baseball behind just Alex Wood. He isn’t going to strike out a dozen hitters, nor is he expected to notch the win, but he won’t hurt your ratios, and I can’t confidently say that about the other top streamer options from the slate.

Top DFS Cash Game Option

Carlos Carrasco (CLE @ SF)

Zack Greinke is the best pitcher on tonight’s slate, with deGrom and Gio Gonzalez right on his tail, but Carrasco is far and away the safest play of the night. He is projected for the most Ks, best shot at a win and lowest ERA of all pitchers on the slate. A large part of this is due to the ballpark and opposition, who have been making pitcher’s lives easy all season. Even with all of this going for him, Carrasco is still $500 and $1,500 less expensive than Greinke and deGrom tonight.

Top DFS Tournament Option

Carlos Rodon (CWS vs LAD)

Typically when a team wins 30 of 34 games, you don’t start the opposing pitcher against them. This should make Rodon’s ownership nice and low tonight, but he still has a lofty ceiling. The White Sox righty has been struggling with his command since he came back from injury, but if the light switch clicks on for this game, he has the upside to go 7 innings with double-digit strikeouts and at just $7,500, that kind of potential is difficult to find.

Start/Sit Table

Guide

*All stats based on our daily projections
OWN – ownership % between ESPN and Yahoo!
Score – Based on an algorithm that weighs if their ratios are too high to offset the odds of them getting a win and add strikeouts to your team totals
Recommendation – For Roto and H2H season-long leagues
DFS Cash – Not based on value, but performance only. Heavily favors ratios and odds at getting the win and quality start
DFS GPP – Not based on value, but performance only. Built to focus more on strikeout potential and stamina
*The table is sorted by their season-long fantasy appeal
