FanDuel MLB Lineup Advice: Saturday (7/8)
We have and eight-game main slate tonight, the final weekend of games before the All-Star break. Plenty of action across the industry, so get some lineups in before we have a few days off. No weather concerns with these games, so let’s get into it.
Jeff Samardzija (SFG): $9,000 vs. MIA
Samardzija has been one of the bright spots on an otherwise pretty bad Giants team. He has put up 37 or more FanDuel points in four of his last six starts. He is a great cash game option for tonight, as he is at home in one of the best pitchers parks in the league and up against a Miami team who strikes outs 20.6% of the time vs right-handed pitching. Good strikeout upside here along with some solid consistency.
Mike Zunino (SEA): $2,400 vs. OAK
Zunino is always an interesting option at catcher, since he is often cheap and has a bit of power upside. He comes into this game with a .338 wOBA and a .256 ISO against right-handed pitching while at home. Really strong numbers for a player that cheap who can bring you that late-night point boost.
Paul Goldschmidt (ARI): $4,100 vs. CIN
Whenever you have the chance to fit Goldy into your lineup, you really can’t pass it up. He just has massive numbers to warrant his price and plays in one of the best hitter’s parks in the league. Tonight Goldschmidt is up against a right-handed pitcher, (Luis Castillo). This season vs righties, he has a .452 wOBA and a .321 ISO. Huge numbers for the All-Star who should be in any lineup you make.
Jason Kipnis (CLE): $2,800 vs. DET
Kipnis hasn’t been the most consistent, but tonight he is too cheap to pass up. Yes, he has a tough match up against Justin Verlander, but getting cheap exposure to the Indians offense can’t be passed up. Kipnis has a .297 wOBA and a .169 ISO this season vs right-handed pitching.
Kyle Seager (SEA): $2,600 vs. OAK
Not sure what FanDuel is thinking with how cheap they are making some players, but Seager is underpriced and in a great spot. Tonight he is up against a right-handed pitcher, and this season facing them, he has as .327 wOBA and a .182 ISO. He will be super chalky today because of the matchup, which is too good to pass up.
Zack Cozart (CIN): $3,300 @ ARI
Cozart is working his way back into form after his stint on the DL, and tonight he is at a great hitter’s park to get things rolling. Facing off against Taijuan Walker, this season vs right-handed pitching Cozart has a .379 wOBA and a .225 ISO. Big time numbers, and he is playable in all lineups.
Shin-Soo Choo (TEX): $3,100 vs. LAA
Choo is really only in play when he is up against a right-handed pitcher, since his power falls off big time vs left-handers. Choo is at home in a great hitter’s park, so this is a spot where you want to load up on batters. Choo has a .349 wOBA and a .189 ISO vs right-handed pitching this season. It should be nice and hot in Texas for this game, so the ball should be flying.
David Peralta (ARI): $3,100 vs. CIN
Always nice to target a bat in a game that has an over/under set at almost 10 runs. Peralta isn’t expensive at all, and he comes into this game with a .360 wOBA and a .367 OBP this season vs right-handed pitching. Can’t overlook a player that can get on base and is only striking out 15% of the time vs RHP.
Charlie Blackmon (COL): $4,200 vs. CWS
You don’t need me to tell you that rostering bats from a game at Coors Field is a good idea, but you should play Blackmon. When you have the money to roster one of the best hitters in the game, you do it. Blackmon comes into to this game with a .368 wOBA a .392 ISO, and only a 13.8% strikeout rate vs left-handed pitching. Elite numbers, and he homered last night, so ride the hot hand.
- Khris Davis (OAK): $4,000 @ SEA
- Joc Pederson (LOS): $3,700 vs. KAN
- Billy Hamilton (CIN): $3,300 @ ARI
- Carlos Gomez (TEX): $3,200 vs. LAA
