DRAFT NFL Lineup Advice: Week 4 (Thur/Sun/Mon)

DRAFT NFL Lineup Advice: Week 4 (Thur/Sun/Mon)

Cam Newton was extremely disappointing last week against the Saints. I had him fifth in my rankings and couldn’t believe his stat line when the game concluded.

On a positive note, I had Ezekiel Elliott as the third-best RB. I figured people would be down on him after the poor performance in Denver, and it was nice to see him bounce back on Monday Night Football.

Now, on to the Week 4 rankings…

Quarterback

1. Aaron Rodgers, Packers (vs. Bears)
2. Tom Brady, Patriots (vs. Panthers)
3. Russell Wilson, Seahawks (vs. Colts)
4. Matt Ryan, Falcons (vs. Bills)
5. Drew Brees, Saints (@ Dolphins)
6. Dak Prescott, Cowboys (vs. Rams)
7. Kirk Cousins, Redskins (@ Chiefs)
8. Philip Rivers, Chargers (vs. Eagles)
9. Marcus Mariota, Titans (@ Texans)
10. Carson Palmer, Cardinals (vs. 49ers)

It’s no surprise that Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady are the top two options on my list, but Russell Wilson sneaking into the top three is a surprise. After two duds, Wilson went off for 373 passing yards and four TDs against the Titans last week. Now, he returns to Seattle to face the wounded Colts on Sunday night. This should be a whoopin’ with Wilson leading the way.

I put 10  quarterbacks on my list, but I wouldn’t go below No. 6 (Dak Prescott). It was a very odd stretch of games for Prescott over the past few weeks. In the season opener, he threw 39 times (24 completions for 268 yards). In Week 2, Prescott threw the ball 50 times against Denver (last year, he only had over 40 attempts once). Then, on Monday night, he only had 18 attempts (13 completions for 183 yards). His Week 4 opponent, the Rams, allowed Brian Hoyer to throw for 332 yards and two TDs last Thursday. If you believe this one will turn into a shootout, make sure to get Prescott (or EE) on your team(s).

Running Back

1. Ezekiel Elliott, Cowboys (vs. Rams)
2. Kareem Hunt, Chiefs (vs. Redskins)
3. Le’Veon Bell, Steelers (@ Ravens)
4. LeSean McCoy, Bills (@ Falcons)
5. Devonta Freeman, Falcons (vs. Bills)
6. Todd Gurley, Rams (@ Cowboys)
7. Dalvin Cook, Vikings (vs. Lions)
8. Leonard Fournette, Jaguars (@ Jets)
9. Ty Montgomery, Packers (vs. Bears)
10. Christian McCaffrey, Panthers (@ Patriots)
11. Melvin Gordon, Chargers (vs. Eagles)
12. Jay Ajayi, Dolphins (vs. Saints)
13. Tarik Cohen, Bears (@ Packers)
14. Carlos Hyde, 49ers (@ Cardinals)
15. C.J. Anderson, Broncos (vs. Raiders)
16. Joe Mixon, Bengals (@ Browns)
17. Mark Ingram, Saints (@ Dolphins)
18. Chris Carson, Seahawks (vs. Colts)
19. Jordan Howard, Bears (@ Packers)
20. James White, Patriots (vs. Panthers)

Breaking news, Le’Veon Bell has fallen from his perch! He’s been dethroned by Zeke Elliott and Kareem Hunt. As I mentioned with Prescott, get him and Elliott into your lineups. Elliott only rushed for 80 yards (and a touchdown) on Monday night, and I expect a bigger game in Week 4. As for Hunt, he’s a beast. In three games he’s rushed for a 58-yard TD (Week 1), a 53-yard TD (Week 2), and a 69-yard TD (Week 3). The MNF game this week should be a barn-burner. Arrowhead will be rocking. Hunt will be rolling.

This week’s running back rankings are littered with rookies. They are stealing the show in 2017. I already mentioned Hunt. Others include: Dalvin Cook, Leonard Fournette, Christian McCaffrey, Tarik Cohen, Joe Mixon, and Chris Carson. It seems insane to have that many stud rookie RBs this early in the season. After Hunt, I like Cook and Fournette the best from that class. However, don’t forget about Mixon. He carried the ball 18 times for 62 yards and caught three passes for 39 yards last week. It was the first game with new offensive coordinator, Bill Lazor. Hopefully, we’ll see more of Mixon against Cleveland.

Wide Receiver/Tight End

1. Antonio Brown, Steelers (@ Ravens)
2. Julio Jones, Falcons (vs. Bills)
3. A.J. Green, Bengals (@ Browns)
4. Odell Beckham Jr., Giants (@ Bucs)
5. Jordy Nelson, Packers (vs. Bears)
6. Michael Thomas, Saints (@ Dolphins)
7. Mike Evans, Bucs (vs. Giants)
8. Keenan Allen, Chargers (vs. Eagles)
9. DeAndre Hopkins, Texans (vs. Titans)
10. Doug Baldwin, Seahawks (vs. Colts)
11. Rob Gronkowski, Patriots (vs. Panthers)
12. Demaryius Thomas, Broncos (vs. Raiders)
13. Dez Bryant, Cowboys (vs. Rams)
14. Larry Fitzgerald, Cardinals (vs. 49ers)
15. Stefon Diggs, Vikings (vs. Lions)
16. Brandin Cooks, Patriots (vs. Panthers)
17. Tyreek Hill, Chiefs (vs. Redskins)
18. Jarvis Landry, Dolphins (vs. Saints)
19. Emmanuel Sanders, Broncos (vs. Raiders)
20. Devante Parker, Dolphins (vs. Saints)

The top four WRs will likely be staples in my weekly rankings, with little shuffling among them. However, the WR/TE player pool is deep this week. So, you could get away without having one of the top tier studs in your lineup for Week 4.

If you waited and selected DeAndre Hopkins as your first WR/TE on DRAFT, that isn’t a bad play at all. He currently leads the league with 37 targets in 2017. Tennessee has been one of the worst teams against opposing WRs this season. Last week, Doug Baldwin caught 10 balls for 105 yards and a TD. The game prior, Allen Hurns caught six passes for 82 yards and a TD in London. In the opener, both Amari Cooper and Seth Roberts scored a TD while Michael Crabtree led the team with six catches for 83 yards. All of this means a big day for Hopkins should be on the horizon.

Two more names you could steal in your DRAFT drafts are Larry Fitzgerald and Stefon Diggs. Fitz is third in the league with 34 targets. Diggs is currently the No. 1 wide receiver in fantasy football. However, Diggs may have to deal with Darius Slay.
