DRAFT NFL Lineup Advice: Week 8 (Thur/Sun/Mon)

With six teams on a bye, and one game in England, the player pool will look pretty slim if you wait until the 1pm slate of games for DRAFT. It may be wise to enter a full Week 8 DRAFT draft this week, especially if the contest is a large field.

However, I completely understand if you want to wait until 11:30am (EST) and see the active/inactive list before jumping into a contest.

Either way, we have you covered with the complete Week 8 rankings…

Quarterback

1. Tom Brady, Patriots (vs. Chargers)
2. Carson Wentz, Eagles (vs. 49ers)
3. Dak Prescott, Cowboys (@ Redskins)
4. Drew Brees, Saints (vs. Bears)
5. Cam Newton, Panthers (@ Buccaneers)
6. Russell Wilson, Seahawks (vs. Texans)
7. Tyrod Taylor, Bills (vs. Raiders)
8. Kirk Cousins, Redskins (vs. Cowboys)
9. Philip Rivers, Chargers (@ Patriots)
10. Andy Dalton, Bengals (vs. Colts)

Every week, Tom Brady leads the list. However, the jumble that follows him changes frequently. This time, we see Carson Wentz and Dak Prescott right behind the G.O.A.T.

Wentz walloped Washington on Monday night and has now thrown at least three touchdowns in three-straight games. San Francisco allowed Prescott to throw three TDs against them in Week 7.

In a strange coincidence, Prescott gets Wentz’s opponent from last week, too. Wentz threw four TDs against the Redskins in Week 7.

If you let the QB position slip away and the top tier options are gone, I have one sleeper suggestion for you: Philip Rivers. The Patriots are allowing the most points to opposing quarterbacks this season and Rivers has thrown at least two TD passes in three of the past four games.

Running back

1. Le’Veon Bell, Steelers (@ Lions)
2. LeSean McCoy, Bills (vs. Raiders)
3. Ezekiel Elliott, Cowboys (@ Redskins)
4. Mark Ingram, Saints (vs. Bears)
5. Melvin Gordon, Chargers (@ Patriots)
6. Devonta Freeman, Falcons (@ Jets)
7. Kareem Hunt, Chiefs (vs. Broncos)
8. Alvin Kamara, Saints (vs. Bears)
9. Christian McCaffrey, Panthers (@ Buccaneers)
10. Jordan Howard, Bears (@ Saints)
11. Joe Mixon, Bengals (vs. Colts)
12. Jay Ajayi, Dolphins (@ Ravens)
13. Carlos Hyde, 49ers (@ Eagles)
14. Chris Thompson, Redskins (vs. Cowboys)
15. Lamar Miller, Texans (@ Seahawks)
16. Doug Martin, Buccaneers (vs. Panthers)
17. Jerick McKinnon, Vikings (@ Browns)
18. LeGarrette Blount, Eagles (vs. 49ers)
19. Ameer Abdullah, Lions (vs. Steelers)
20. C.J. Anderson, Broncos (@ Chiefs)

Le’Veon Bell is from Ohio, but went to college at Michigan State. This week, he returns to Michigan to face the Lions on Sunday night. Any extra motivation to a stud player like Bell makes him a slam dunk No. 1 overall selection for me. It also helps that Mark Ingram ran all over Detroit in Week 6: 114 yards and two TDs.

Last week, I highly suggested LeSean McCoy facing the Bucs. Buffalo didn’t have a lot of passing options and Tampa Bay allows the most points to fantasy wide receivers. In lieu of a wide receiver, we went with a pass-catching running back. McCoy caught five passes for 31 yards, along with his 91 rushing yards and two TDs on the ground.

I tell you that in order to tell you this: do the same with Christian McCaffrey. Run CMC leads Carolina with 59 targets and 44 receptions this season. He’s also caught at least seven passes in back-to-back games.

Wide receiver/Tight end

1. Antonio Brown, Steelers (@ Lions)
2. A.J. Green, Bengals (vs. Colts)
3. Julio Jones, Falcons (@ Jets)
4. Mike Evans, Buccaneers (vs. Panthers)
5. Keenan Allen, Chargers (@ Patriots)
6. Michael Thomas, Saints (vs. Bears)
7. DeAndre Hopkins, Texans (@ Seahawks)
8. Doug Baldwin, Seahawks (vs. Texans)
9. Dez Bryant, Cowboys (@ Redskins)
10. Rob Gronkowski, Patriots (vs. Chargers)
11. Demaryius Thomas, Broncos (@ Chiefs)
12. Zach Ertz, Eagles (vs. 49ers)
13. Brandin Cooks, Patriots (vs. Chargers)
14. Jarvis Landry, Dolphins (@ Ravens)
15. Chris Hogan, Patriots (vs. Chargers)
16. Stefon Diggs, Vikings (@ Browns)
17. Alshon Jeffery, Eagles (vs. 49ers)
18. Amari Cooper, Raiders (@ Bills)
19. Tyreek Hill, Chiefs (vs. Broncos)
20. Adam Thielen, Vikings (@ Browns)

This week, let others in your draft take Antonio Brown early. I’d much rather have A.J. Green or Keenan Allen as my No. 1 WR/TE. Green takes on a Colts secondary that has allowed 676 receiving yards to WRs in the past three weeks. By the way, those three offenses were San Francisco, Tennessee, and Jacksonville.

After waiting until Round 2 for your WR/TE, try to pair Green/Allen with Doug Baldwin. Houston has allowed five receiving touchdowns to opposing wide receivers in the past four games. Baldwin caught nine passes on 12 targets for 91 yards and a touchdown last week.

However, if the receivers fly off the board and you’re stuck scrolling down your screen looking for a second option, roll the dice with Alshon Jeffery. Philadelphia is implied to score the most points this week, 30, according to Vegas. Jeffery only caught two passes in Week 7, but his matchup against San Francisco is much more favorable.
