FanDuel NHL Lineup Advice: Tuesday (10/17)

FanDuel NHL Lineup Advice: Tuesday (10/17)

We have an 11-game slate tonight, which means plenty of options at each position, and plenty of stacking options. There are a number of big home favorites according to Vegas, so we’ll look there for some options. We have more stats starting to fill in as the season goes on, and there are also a bit of injuries starting to pop up, so be sure to double check all players are in the lineup before lock.

Center

Alexander Wennberg (CLS) : $5,800 @ WPG

Wennberg has three points in his last two games and is seeing about 18-19 minutes of ice time per game. Plenty of opportunity for production, as he plays on the top forward line and the first power-play unit. This game has a six goal over/under according to Vegas, so there should be plenty of offense to go around. For his price, and the playing time he gets, tough to pass him up in this spot.

Connor McDavid (EDM) : $9,200 vs. CAR

Whenever McDavid is on the slate, he is always worth a look, because the multi-point upside is very high. The Oilers had a very rough game in there last outing at home, and with this team having the offensive power it does, we expect them to bounce back strongly. McDavid is the first part of an Oilers stack we’ll be looking at, and with him on the first forward line, and the first power-play unit, we are looking for a multi-goal game from him.

Wing

Artemi Panarin (CLS) : $7,500 @ WPG

Panarin is the second member of the Blue Jackets stack we are looking at for tonight, and he is coming off of two big games. He has four points and nine shots over his past two outings, which means 21 or more FanDuel points over that span. Very strong stuff from the first year Blue Jacket, and we should be expecting much more of that, since he is on the first forward line and first power-play unit, alongside Andrew Wennberg.

Scott Hartnell (NSH) : $3,800 vs. COL

Hartnell is simply too cheap for the role he is having on the ice. He plays on the second forward line and the first power-play and is under $4K. Those savings can’t be passed up, especially when Vegas has Nashville as a massive -200 favorite at home. He has scored 14 or more FanDuel points in three of his five games this season and is a nice pairing with another Nashville player we will get to later.

Cam Atkinson (CLS) : $6,700 @ WPG

Atkinson rounds out the Blue Jacket’s stack we are looking at today and is in a spot to score some points. Atkinson is on the first line and first power-play unit with Wennberg and Panarin, so the opportunity to stack some points is huge here. The shared ice time, and over under of six goals is very positive for this stack. Atkinson is averaging three shots per game, with about 18 minutes of ice time.

Milan Lucic (EDM) : $5,000 vs. CAR

Lucic may have moved off the first line with McDavid, but they are still on the same power-play unit together, and for only $5K, he makes a great play. Lucic isn’t a pure goal scorer by any means, but the ice time he gets, and his linemates, give him plenty of opportunity for production, and stacking points.

Defense

Samuel Girard (NSH) : $3,800 vs. COL

I wrote about Girard last week, and the same things ring true today. He is very cheap, he plays on the second defensive pairing and the first power-play unit, and he can’t be passed up for that price. Getting cheap exposure to a power-play and to a team that is a -200 favorite at home, is almost too good to be true, so we have to jump on him before his price comes up. He has three points in three games, which is great for a player who is only 19 years old.

Oscar Klefbom (EDM) : $5,100 vs. CAR

Klefbom rounds out the Edmonton players we are looking at tonight and is the perfect fit with Lucic and McDavid. Klefbom is on the first power-play unit with those two and is averaging 23 minutes per game, along with over three shots per game. He has yet to record a point this season, but being a -165 favorite at home, there should be plenty of goals for him to get involved with.

Goalie

Pekka Rinne (NSH) : $8,100 vs. COL

Rinne is a massive -200 favorite at home today, and Vegas tends to be right, so he is a great option tonight. Rinne also seems a bit underpriced compared to some of the top options tonight and is still in a spot to pick up the win. He has faced 20 or more shots in each of his four games this season, which is great because he will rack up plenty of points, and if one goal does go through, he will have a chance to balance it out.
