Fantasy Football Week 5 Flex Favorites

Fantasy Football Week 5 Flex Favorites

If you’re reading this, then you are probably hoping for some flex advice. The idea behind this article to make those tricky flex debates a little easier. A flex player is a player not in the top 60 players according to FantasyPros Flex Week 5 Rankings in half-point PPR leagues as of Wednesday.

I decided to go with the no players in the top 60 to target 12-team leagues that start two running backs and three wide receivers (5 players x 12 teams = 60 players). The players below will only be running backs or wide receivers since these are the two most common positions that fill the flex spot. If you don’t have any of the players below or are facing your own flex lineup decisions and need some help, then ask me on Twitter @mitchellrenz365.

Cole Beasley (WR – DAL) vs. GB
Beasley has been quiet this season with only 20 targets through four weeks, and he doesn’t have a single game with more than 35 receiving yards. This will be the week he breaks out and here’s why. He matches up well against the Packers defense and it showed last season against the Packers where he had six catches for 58 yards and two touchdowns. I expect the Packers to be leading most of this game which should translate into more targets for Beasley.

Aaron Jones (RB – GB) @ DAL
If Jones is the starting running back for the Packers I am really excited. Especially considering how the Cowboys just gave up 215 total yards and one touchdown to the Rams and Todd Gurley last week. Jones played well last week with 49 yards on 12 carries and he was even able to find the end zone. Finding a running back in an Aaron Rodgers led offense is something to buy into.

Jaron Brown (WR – ARI) @ PHI
Last week Brown had eight catches for 105 yards on 12 targets. Over his last three games, he has seen 29 targets. The Cardinals are targetting him and he has been playing well with the absence of John Brown. The Eagles have given up the most targets (96), receptions (62) and yards (837) to wide receivers this season.

Thomas Rawls (RB – SEA) @ LAR
Rawls looks like he will be getting the start and it’s just in time against a Rams defense that hasn’t been able to stop running backs this season. The Rams haven’t given up many receiving yards to running backs which is fine since Rawls isn’t a pass catcher. The Rams have been struggling with running backs on the goal line. The Rams have given up the most rushing touchdowns in the NFL through four weeks with six. Expect Rawls to find the end zone this week.

Robby Anderson (WR – NYJ) @ CLE
This is a play if you are in a matchup against a better team and need some luck and a potential sleeper to give you a big week. Anderson has the big play ability. The Browns defense isn’t good. Anderson has 24 targets through four games. Combined with his big-play ability, if he is able to get six targets against a bad Browns defense he may not need any more to return value. Cross your fingers and hope Anderson has a big game. Also maybe a little revenge game for Josh McCown?

My picks last week weren’t perfect, but who is? I have a much better feeling with my picks this week. If you win your matchup this week because of a flex start hit me up on Twitter and flex those fantasy flex muscles.
