Fantasy Football Week 6 Flex Favorites

Fantasy Football Week 6 Flex Favorites

If you’re reading this, then you are probably hoping for some flex advice. The idea behind this article to make those tricky flex debates a little easier. A flex player is a player not in the top 60 players according to FantasyPros Flex Week 6 Rankings in half-point PPR leagues as of Wednesday.

I decided to go with the no players in the top 60 to target 12-team leagues that start two running backs and three wide receivers (5 players x 12 teams = 60 players). The players below will only be running backs or wide receivers since these are the two most common positions that fill the flex spot. If you don’t have any of the players below or are facing your own flex lineup decisions and need some help, then ask me on Twitter @mitchellrenz365.

Marvin Jones (WR – DET) vs. NO
The Saints at home will score points. The Saints defense isn’t exactly what I would consider very good. The last four weeks Jones is averaging six targets a game and had a season-high of eight targets last week. If Jones can be around six to eight targets against this Saints defense, that is a matchup I am willing to roll the dice on.

Chris Thompson (RB – WAS) vs. SF
He is a top 10 running back yet qualifies for this list. He has had one bad week out of four and is coming off of a bye. A bad week and a bye is all it took for people to forget about Thompson.  Thompson is a pass pass-catching back and the 49ers have given up the most receptions to running backs this season with 35. This matchup will be heavily exploited by the Redskins.

John Brown (WR – ARI) vs. TB
Brown has had at least seven targets in every game he has played this season. He was able to find the end zone and this week gets an injured Buccaneers defense. The Cardinals are throwing the ball more than any other team in the NFL, currently on pace for 726 pass attempts only one less than the NFL record of 727. The Buccaneers are giving up an average of 48 fantasy points to team wide receivers a game which is easily the most in the NFL.

James White (RB – NE) @NYJ
White has 17 receptions the last two weeks. That type of work from a running back is quite amazing. If you have White and you’re in a PPR league you can safely play him as an RB2. White will match up well with the Jets linebackers. Anytime the Patriots and Brady can find a mismatch they usually take full advantage of it.

Taylor Gabriel (WR – ATL) vs. MIA
The status of Mohammad Sanu is up in the air for this game and it is looking like he won’t be playing against the Dolphins. Julio Jones is also banged up with a hip injury which could lead to more work for Gabriel. In four games this year he has seen 18 targets and may be relied upon more since the top two receivers are banged up. The Dolphins have shown this season that they struggle against wide receivers who can stretch the field which is Gabriel’s MO.

Aaron Jones and Cole Beasley were two of my best picks last week, and I will be looking to continue to bring you solid advice to help you flex your fantasy muscles.
