Fantasy Football: Week 8 Injury Updates

Halloween Weekend is upon is in the NFL and Week 8 is sure to inspire some fright when looking at fantasy lineups as injuries have undoubtedly plagued our teams. The important thing is to not let these bumps and bruises inspire apathy and cause us to get lackadaisical in our preparation. This week, more than ever, is the time to make sure bye weeks are filled and game-time decisions are accounted for in all of our lineups. At this point, we make our own advantages and the random wheel of injuries are an opportunity for treats as well as tricks. With that, let’s dig in for the Week 8 injury report.

Minnesota at Cleveland (Game played in London | Sunday, 9:30 AM ET)
Minnesota: QB Sam Bradford (knee) will once again miss time, according to the latest injury report. WRs Stefon Diggs (groin/ankle) and Michael Floyd (hamstring) are both listed as questionable.

Cleveland: According to the team’s official injury report, DE Myles Garrett (concussion) will miss this action in Week 8. The Browns defense may also be without CB Jason McCourty (ankle) and S Jabrill Peppers (toe) who are listed as doubtful and questionable, respectively.

Oakland at Buffalo (Sunday, 1:00 PM ET)
Oakland: Raiders S Karl Joseph (groin) is expected to miss the Week 8 matchup against the Bills as he is listed as doubtful on the Raiders’ injury report. Already ruled out is rookie CB Gareon Conley (shin).

Buffalo: The Bills will be without TE Charles Clay (knee) for another week, although he was seen stretching at practice on Monday which seems to suggest he is, at the very least, trending in the right direction.

Indianapolis at Cincinnati (Sunday, 1:00 PM ET)
Indianapolis: As has been the case for the entire 2017 season, QB Andrew Luck (right shoulder) will not play in Week 8. Luck has been ruled out on this week’s injury report. Talks will continue to determine if his season will be shut down by the coaching and medical staffs.

Cincinnati: Rookie WR John Ross (knee) has finally gotten through a week without an injury designation. This comes at a good time, as the WR depth for the Bengals is hurting with Cody Core (concussion) and Tyler Boyd (knee) both ruled out on the latest injury report.

Los Angeles Chargers at New England (Sunday, 1:00 PM ET)
Los Angeles Chargers: RB Melvin Gordon (foot) is officially listed as questionable on the Chargers’ official injury report. However, after practicing in a limited capacity on Wednesday and Thursday, he practiced in full on Friday which is a good sign for his availability on Sunday.

New England: The defense for New England will be without a few key pieces in Week 8 as LB Dont’a Hightower (shoulder) and CB Eric Rowe (groin) are both out and CB Stephon Gilmore is listed as questionable on Friday’s official injury report. It is also worth keeping an eye on WR Danny Amendola (knee) who is listed as questionable.

Chicago at New Orleans (Sunday, 1:00 PM ET)
Chicago: The only injury of note for the Bears is WR Markus Wheaton (groin), who is doubtful after not practicing this week.

New Orleans: There is no fantasy relevant injury information to report.

Atlanta at New York Jets (Sunday, 1:00 PM ET)
Atlanta: There is no fantasy relevant injury information to report.

New York Jets: The only information to note on the Jets’ injury report is DL Muhammad Wilkerson (shoulder/foot) who is listed as questionable this Sunday on the official injury report.

San Francisco at Philadelphia (Sunday, 1:00 PM ET)
San Francisco: The 49ers may without LB Reuben Foster (ankle/ribs) this weekend as he was limited all week in practice and is questionable on the official injury report. On the other side of the ball, there’s another question mark as outside WR Marquise Goodwin (back) is also questionable.

Philadelphia: CB Ronald Darby (ankle), who has missed action since Week 1, is questionable after practicing in a limited capacity all week according to the Eagles’ injury report. This would be a big help to a defense that will be without LB Jordan Hicks (achilles) after he went down last week. On offense, the Eagles learned that they will be without LT Jason Peters (ACL/MCL) for the rest of the season.

Carolina at Tampa Bay (Sunday, 1:00 PM ET)
Carolina: The Panthers’ injury report has already ruled out C Ryan Kalil (neck). Listed as questionable is LB Luke Kuechly (concussion), who practiced in full all week, and TE Ed Dickson (ankle) who practiced in full on Thursday and Friday.

Tampa Bay: QB Jameis Winston (right shoulder) is expected to start on Sunday despite his injury designation as questionable on the official injury report. On the other side of the ball, however, they will be without CB Brent Grimes (shoulder) as he’s already been ruled out.

Houston at Seattle (Sunday, 4:05 PM ET)
Houston: There is no fantasy relevant injury information to report.

Seattle: The Seahawks will likely be without RB C.J. Prosise (ankle) who is listed as doubtful on their official injury report.

Dallas at Washington (Sunday, 4:25 PM ET)
Dallas: K Dan Bailey (right groin) will be the biggest absence for the Cowboys as he’s already been ruled out on the team’s official injury report. In addition, rookie CB Chidobe Awuzie (hamstring) will also miss the game on Sunday.

Washington: CBs Bashaud Breeland (knee) and Josh Norman (rib) are both listed as questionable on the team’s official injury report along with what seems to be half of the entire roster. The entire Washington offensive line is banged up and it will definitely be a situation to watch. With the offensive line the way it is, we should all have some pause playing anyone on this offense.

Pittsburgh at Detroit (Sunday, 8:30 PM ET)
Pittsburgh: The Steelers will be without OT Marcus Gilbert (hamstring), TE Vance McDonald (knee), and DE Stephon Tuitt (back) all of whom are already ruled out for Sunday Night’s matchup against Detroit.

Detroit: The Lions injury report lists WR Kenny Golladay (hamstring) as already out for their matchup against the Steelers. Watch for status updates on WR Golden Tate (shoulder) and DE Ziggy Ansah (knee) as they are both listed as questionable.

Denver at Kansas City (Monday, 8:30 PM ET)

Denver: The biggest question mark for the Broncos is WR Emmanuel Sanders (ankle) who will be re-evaluated on Monday before the game.

Kansas City: The Chiefs are hopeful that LB Justin Houston (knee) will be able to suit up on Monday as he was a limited participant in practice on Friday. He will be a game-time decision.
