NFL DFS Stacking Options for Week 8

NFL DFS Stacking Options for Week 8

Last week’s top stack worked out well with a triple-stack of the Dallas Cowboys big three all producing big games. Unfortunately, we don’t have a similar “onslaught” outlook for any of the games this week, so the stacks return to the more traditional QB/WR and RB/DEF combos. While this is a stacking article and I will give you my top stacks, this also feels like a week where going “naked” with a QB like Cam Newton and not pairing him with a WR could be a viable tournament strategy.

Note: All salaries are from FanDuel, but stacks can be considered for any DFS site.

So, with that let’s stack ’em up for Week 8.

QB Phillip Rivers (LAC): $7,500 / WR Keenan Allen (LAC): $7,800
I love rostering Rivers when he is playing as an underdog by five or more points and a game total over 45. Using the Rotoviz Game Splits app, we can see that in nine career games where that has been the case he has averaged over six more fantasy points per game with an average of 328 passing yards and 2.2 touchdown passes per game. His top WR Keenan Allen also has the best matchup of the Chargers’ wideouts working out of the slot as he should get peppered with targets as the Chargers try to keep up with the Patriots.

Bring it back with: Rob Gronkowski (NE): $8,400

QB Jameis Winston (TB): $7,600 / WR Mike Evans (TB): $8,200
Winston should continue to play through his shoulder injury that didn’t seem to slow him down last week when he threw 44 times for 384 yards and three touchdowns. His top WR Mike Evans has scored in four out of six games this season despite numerous tough matchups and has topped 67 yards in all but one game. He should have an easier time against the Panthers’ secondary, which he scored against in both meetings last season.

Bring it back with: Kelvin Benjamin (CAR): $6,600

QB Russell Wilson (SEA): $7,900 / WR Doug Baldwin (SEA): $7,700
Wilson has thrown for 10 touchdowns over the last four weeks. While his matchup with the Texans doesn’t look good on paper, the Texans’ defense has been stricken by injuries, and their offense has forced opposing teams to try to keep up. Baldwin remains Wilson’s top option after posting nine catches for 92 yards and a score last week and has a favorable matchup working out of the slot against the Texans’ secondary.

Bring it back with: DeAndre Hopkins (HOU): $8,000

RB Mark Ingram (NO): $7,200 / DEF New Orleans Saints: $4,800
Ingram has returned to a workhorse back over the last two games following the trade of Adrian Peterson. He has had at least 26 touches in each game while compiling back-to-back 100-yard rushing games and a total of three touchdowns. He will be at home as near double-digit favorite against the Bears which should lead to another heavy usage day.

The Saints’ defense has been much improved this season, recording 3.5 sacks and 2.5 turnovers per game over the last five weeks. They will get a chance to get after Bears’ rookie QB Mitch Trubisky, who might be forced to pass more than seven times this week.

RB Joe Mixon (CIN): $5,900 / DEF Cincinnati Bengals: $4,800
The situation is right for Mixon to have a big game as a home favorite against the Colts. Let’s just hope the appropriate large workload is there to support it. Mixon continues to get the most carries in the Bengals’ backfield, but Jeremy Hill and Giovani Bernard are still also involved in the offense, for some reason.

He might be too risky for Cash game lineups but as the upside for a massive game at a low salary. Pairing him with the Bengals’ defense who has averaged three sacks per game and facing a Colts’ offense allowing a league-high four sacks per contest could be a cheap way to get big fantasy production.
