Welcome to Week 7. It’s time to get you prepared for your snake drafts this week. I’ll identify some players who could be potential lineup landmines for your five man roster this week on DRAFT. If you’ve yet to try DRAFT, there is a link below and it’s really a whole lot of fun. The best part is it only takes about five minutes to draft a team. Without further delay, let’s get to it!

Quarterback
Carson Palmer (ARI) @ LAR
He’s been chucking the ball around the yard a ton since David Johnson went down in Week 1. He was averaging 44 pass attempts per game until the arrival of Adrian Peterson, who I was dead wrong about last week. Palmer only threw the ball half as much last week, completing an ultra-efficient 18 of those 22 passes. He may be second in the NFL in passing yards, but I expect the Cardinals to lean on A.P. not Palmer.
Tyrod Taylor (BUF) vs. TB
The Bucs will likely force Buffalo to beat them with the pass by stacking the box with focus on LeSean McCoy. The problem is, Tyrod lacks targets. Zay Jones has underwhelmed and the lack of talent at WR is ridiculous. Taylor has failed to throw 30 passes in all but one game so far this year and that resulted in a 37 for 166 effort through the air. He’s also failed to bail drafters out with rushing yards, gaining just 28 yards in his last three games.
Running Back
Marshawn Lynch (OAK) vs KC
The Raiders offense looks broken. Therefore, I can’t feel any confidence drafting any of them. Fun fact, Oakland has only given Beast Mode a total of 70 carries this season. Yes, 70! They’ve played every week so far and it’s not like they need to save him for anything. Don’t invest a pick on this mess.
Ty Montgomery (GB) vs NO
No one knows Green Bay’s offensive game plan this week and various opinions are wide spread. As someone who watched every snap of the Saints game last week, this defensive unit is much improved and not one I want to draft an RB against. Especially one who is banged up and in a time share.
DeMarco Murray (TEN) @ CLE
Cleveland’s run defense is actually pretty good. They rank 6th in rush yards per game allowed and Murray is hurt. That hasn’t seemed to stop him yet, but I’d rather get my Titans exposure with Delanie Walker in the fifth round. Derrick Henry will get the garbage time carries again if they get a decent lead.
Wide Receiver/Tight End
Doug Baldwin (SEA) @ NYG
The Giants stunned the Broncos on SNF and part of that was due in part to the fantastic game the their defense had, led by Jason Pierre-Paul and Janoris Jenkins. Jenkins will likely cover Baldwin a majority of the time, and I expect this to be a huge game for Jimmy Graham instead.
Stefon Diggs (MIN) vs BAL
Diggs has a nagging groin injury, again. While not as serious as last year, it’s still worth noting that his production suffered significantly in games where Diggs was designated the questionable tag on the injury report. He’s only worth playing when healthy and not against a top-5 pass defense.
T.Y. Hilton (IND) vs JAC
Hilton has appeared here often this season and he made me look silly against the 49ers. However, he’s doomed this weekend. I hate to sound so midevil, but it’s either A.J. Bouye coverage or Jalen Ramsey coverage (or both) this week. I can’t waste a pick on a guy that’s going to get shut down.
Demaryius Thomas (DEN) @ LAC
Both Denver starting WRs got beat up on Sunday. Manny Sanders being ruled out already makes this matchup with Casey Hayward a really bad one. That’s an awful draw for an injured pass catcher as Hayward and the top-5 Chargers pass defense unit handled him well last season.
