Players to Fade on FanDuel: Week 7

Players to Fade on FanDuel: Week 7

In this article, we will take a look at players who may be highly owned or overpriced and who you can feel comfortable fading. Let’s go ahead and take a look at some of the options to ignore for Week 7.

Quarterback

Jameis Winston (TB): $7,600 at BUF
Jameis Winston left the game early last weekend in Arizona, but it sounds like he should play this weekend in Buffalo. Since it is his throwing shoulder that is injured, I’m worried it will impact him to the point where the Buccaneers try and run the ball heavily with Doug Martin. Also, the Bills have been excellent against the pass this season, allowing the third-fewest FanDuel points to opposing quarterbacks.

Running Back

Melvin Gordon (LAC): $7,700 vs. DEN
Even though he had a great game last weekend against the Raiders and a solid game against the Broncos in Week 1, I’m choosing to fade him this week. The Broncos have the No. 1 ranked rushing defense in the NFL and outside of an 11-yard receiving touchdown, they held Gordon in check for most of the game in Week 1. He’s definitely someone you have to start in season-long leagues, but his upside will be capped for DFS this week.

Christian McCaffrey (CAR): $6,800 at CHI
Christian McCaffrey had an excellent game against the Eagles last Thursday night, but I’m not quite ready to jump on board in half-point PPR and standard formats. McCaffrey has been ineffective as a runner so far this season, and I don’t think he will consistently have 10 receptions like he did in Week 6.

Wide Receiver

T.Y. Hilton (IND): $7,600 vs. JAC
After having seven receptions and 177 yards in Week 5, T.Y. Hilton was essentially shut down this past Monday night in Tennessee. The matchup against the Jaguars this week is not a great spot for him to bounce back considering the Jaguars have two of the top eight graded cornerbacks according to Pro Football Focus.

Adam Thielen (MIN): $6,900 vs. BAL
Adam Thielen saw a ton of targets last week against the Packers with Stefon Diggs out with a groin injury. It’s too early to tell whether or not he will sit again this week, but if he doesn’t then Thielen’s target share will probably regress back toward the mean. Also, Thielen will likely see a decent chunk of Jimmy Smith who is a very solid coverage cornerback.

Tight End

Cameron Brate (TB): $6,200 at BUF
Cameron Brate has been solid this season with a touchdown in each of his past four games. However, I’m fading him this week when you consider what I mentioned above about Winston and also the matchup against the Bills. The Bills have been solid against opposing tight end, allowing no more than 50 receiving yards in any game and they have not allowed a touchdown this season.
