DRAFT NFL Lineup Advice: Week 10 (Thur/Sun/Mon)

What a weird week we had in the NFL.

First, our rankings were rendered obsolete when Deshaun Watson was placed on season-ending IR after tearing his ACL in a practice on Thursday.

Then, just when we thought the Ezekiel Elliott situation was over, he was able to play, again, for the Cowboys.

Finally, at 11:30 am on Sunday when the inactive reports are released, news broke that Jaguars running back, Leonard Fournette, would be benched for missing team events.

Now, on to the Week 10 rankings…

Quarterback

1. Russell Wilson, Seahawks (@ Cardinals)
2. Dak Prescott, Cowboys (@ Falcons)
3. Matthew Stafford, Lions (vs. Browns)
4. Tom Brady, Patriots (@ Broncos)
5. Ben Roethlisberger, Steelers (@ Colts)
6. Matt Ryan, Falcons (vs. Cowboys)
7. Cam Newton, Panthers (vs. Dolphins)
8. Drew Brees, Saints (@ Bills)
9. Tyrod Taylor, Bills (vs. Saints)
10. Jared Goff, Rams (vs. Texans)

Tom Brady isn’t in his usual No. 1 spot, but he could be there at the end of the day. While Wentz was held to only 199 passing yards last week, he still threw for four TDs against the Broncos.

Even in your three-entry drafts, don’t forget about Jared Goff. He would be highly-considered in a contest that starts with the 4 pm games. The Texans have allowed opposing quarterbacks to throw for over 300 yards in three of the past four games (Jacoby Brissett, Russell Wilson, and Alex Smith) and each of them also threw for at least two TDs.

Running Back

1. Le’Veon Bell, Steelers (@ Colts)
2. Ezekiel Elliott, Cowboys (@ Falcons)
3. Todd Gurley, Rams (vs. Texans)
4. LeSean McCoy, Bills (vs. Saints)
5. Leonard Fournette, Jaguars (vs. Chargers)
6. Mark Ingram, Saints (@ Bills)
7. Devonta Freeman, Falcons (vs. Cowboys)
8. Carlos Hyde, 49ers (vs. Giants)
9. Jordan Howard, Bears (vs. Packers)
10. Melvin Gordon, Chargers (@ Jaguars)
11. Christian McCaffrey, Panthers (vs. Dolphins)
12. Alvin Kamara, Saints (@ Bills)
13. Lamar Miller, Texans (@ Rams)
14. Jerick McKinnon, Vikings (@ Redskins)
15. Adrian Peterson, Cardinals (vs. Seahawks)
16. Joe Mixon, Bengals (@ Titans)
17. Doug Martin, Buccaneers (vs. Jets)
18. Matt Forte, Jets (@ Buccaneers)
19. Orleans Darkwa, Giants (@ 49ers)
20. Chris Thompson, Redskins (vs. Vikings)

Let’s try this, again…He’s baaack! Leonard Fournette hasn’t played since October 15th and he’s ready to tear up more defenses. Fournette rushed for over 100 yards in back-to-back games and has scored in five of the six games he’s played in this season.

A new name on our list is Orleans Darkwa. Last week he carried the ball 16 times for 71 yards against the Rams. This week, Darkwa will face a 49ers defense that has allowed the most points to opposing running backs this season. Granted, most of those teams had a significant lead and were just running out the clock. Still, Darkwa should get his chances in Week 10.

Wide Receiver/Tight End

1. Antonio Brown, Steelers (@ Colts)
2. A.J. Green, Bengals (@ Titans)
3. Julio Jones, Falcons (vs. Cowboys)
4. Michael Thomas, Saints (@ Bills)
5. Doug Baldwin, Seahawks (@ Cardinals)
6. Dez Bryant, Cowboys (@ Falcons)
7. DeAndre Hopkins, Texans (@ Rams)
8. Brandin Cooks, Patriots (@ Broncos)
9. Demaryius Thomas, Broncos (vs. Patriots)
10. Stefon Diggs, Vikings (@ Redskins)
11. Golden Tate, Lions (vs. Browns)
12. Adam Thielen, Vikings (@ Redskins)
13. Rob Gronkowski, Patriots (@ Broncos)
14. Marvin Jones Jr., Lions (vs. Browns)
15. Jarvis Landry, Dolphins (@ Panthers)
16. Evan Engram, Giants (@ 49ers)
17. Larry Fitzgerald, Cardinals (vs. Seahawks)
18. Keenan Allen, Chargers (@ Jaguars)
19. Devin Funchess, Panthers (vs. Dolphins)
20. Sterling Shepard, Giants (@ 49ers)

Our core five receivers are missing two names this week, and not because of a bye. Mike Evans will miss this week’s game as he serves a one-game suspension. Hopkins is also a consistent Top Five option for us, but Tom Savage hurts his stock.

However, there is still plenty of talent to go around at the WR/TE position for Week 10. After the trio of Brown/Green/Jones, you’ll find three names who could produce No. 1 WR stats on any given week: Michael Thomas, Doug Baldwin, and Dez Bryant.

Michael Thomas has yet to deliver a 100-yard performance for us this season, but he’s getting the targets. Thomas has notched at least 11 targets in three of the past five games. The breakout game is coming. While Thomas may not have that big game against Buffalo, the Bills have still allowed two TDs to opposing WRs in the past three weeks (Mike Evans and Robby Anderson).

Another favorite on my list is Doug Baldwin. At first glance, you see he’s facing the Cardinals and assume Patrick Peterson will be on Baldwin the entire game. However, Baldwin is more of a slot receiver and Peterson typically sits on an outside receiver. That means Baldwin will likely get Tyrann Mathieu. Also, the Cardinals secondary has allowed five TDs to opposing WRs in the past four games.

Like Thomas, Dez Bryant is nursing an injury but should play this week. Atlanta’s secondary has allowed four TDs to opposing WRs in the past four games.
