DRAFT NFL Lineup Advice: Week 11 (Thur/Sun/Mon)

DRAFT NFL Lineup Advice: Week 11 (Thur/Sun/Mon)

Last week, we touted Jared Goff as one of our favorite QB options and he finished the week as the third-best quarterback (behind Cam Newton and Kirk Cousins).

As for the wide receivers on our list, while some overlooked Sterling Shepard and Devin Funchess, we had them in our rankings. They had monster games to the tune of the third (Funchess) and fourth (Shepard) spots in the final standings.

Now, on to the Week 11 rankings…

Quarterback

1. Tom Brady, Patriots (@ Raiders)
2. Carson Wentz, Eagles (@ Cowboys)
3. Alex Smith, Chiefs (@ Giants)
4. Russell Wilson, Seahawks (vs. Falcons)
5. Drew Brees, Saints (vs. Redskins)
6. Ben Roethlisberger, Steelers (vs. Titans)
7. Dak Prescott, Cowboys (vs. Eagles)
8. Derek Carr, Raiders (vs. Patriots)
9. Kirk Cousins, Redskins (@ Saints)
10. Philip Rivers, Chargers (vs. Bills)

When it comes to the three-entry drafts, I tend to wait on my quarterback selection. This week will be no different. While my opponents will scramble to Brady and Wentz, I’ll be happy with Smith as my QB. The Giants are allowing the third-most points to opposing quarterbacks this fantasy season. In the past three games against New York, C.J. Beathard, Jared Goff, and Russell Wilson each threw for at least two TDs and over 280 yards. That’s a solid floor for Smith in Week 11.

In deeper drafts, Carr is the name to watch. Last year, the Raiders traveled to Azteca Stadium (Estadio Azteca) to face the Texans. Carr threw for 295 yards and three TDs in that game. Oakland returns to Mexico City to face a Patriots secondary that has allowed the second-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks this year.

Running back

1. Le’Veon Bell, Steelers (vs. Titans)
2. Kareem Hunt, Chiefs (@ Giants)
3. Mark Ingram, Saints (vs. Redskins)
4. Leonard Fournette, Jaguars (@ Browns)
5. Melvin Gordon, Chargers (vs. Bills)
6. Todd Gurley, Rams (@ Vikings)
7. LeSean McCoy, Bills (@ Chargers)
8. Alvin Kamara, Saints (vs. Redskins)
9. Lamar Miller, Texans (vs. Cardinals)
10. Jordan Howard, Bears (vs. Lions)
11. Jay Ajayi, Eagles (@ Cowboys)
12. Tevin Coleman, Falcons (@ Seahawks)
13. Jerick McKinnon, Vikings (vs. Rams)
14. Chris Thompson, Redskins (@ Saints)
15. Adrian Peterson, Cardinals (@ Texans)
16. DeMarco Murray, Titans (@ Steelers)
17. Doug Martin, Buccaneers (@ Dolphins)
18. Joe Mixon, Bengals (@ Broncos)
19. Kenyan Drake, Dolphins (vs. Buccaneers)
20. Marshawn Lynch, Raiders (vs. Patriots)

Melvin Gordon was over-shadowed by Austin Ekeler last week. He rushed for 15 more yards (with six fewer carries) and led the Chargers with five catches for 77 yards (and two TDs). This week, the matchup favors Gordon. The Bills allowed five rushing touchdowns last week and eight TDs in the past three weeks. If Philip Rivers is too injured to play, look for Gordon to get even more reps.

Two of the three defenses that allow the most points to opposing running backs are on a bye this week: San Francisco and Indianapolis. I already picked on Buffalo, so let’s look at the fourth-worst defense, the Rams. McKinnon lost some carries to Latavius Murray (17 to 10), but I look for McKinnon to return to the end zone and double-digit fantasy points.

Wide receiver/Tight end

1. Antonio Brown, Steelers (vs. Titans)
2. Mike Evans, Buccaneers (@ Dolphins)
3. Michael Thomas, Saints (vs. Redskins)
4. Julio Jones, Falcons (@ Seahawks)
5. Doug Baldwin, Seahawks (vs. Falcons)
6. Dez Bryant, Cowboys (vs. Eagles)
7. A.J. Green, Bengals (@ Broncos)
8. DeAndre Hopkins, Texans (vs. Cardinals)
9. Adam Thielen, Vikings (vs. Rams)
10. Jarvis Landry, Dolphins (vs. Buccaneers)
11. Tyreek Hill, Chiefs (@ Giants)
12. Michael Crabtree, Raiders (vs. Patriots)
13. Rob Gronkowski, Patriots (@ Raiders)
14. Alshon Jeffery, Eagles (@ Cowboys)
15. Larry Fitzgerald, Cardinals (@ Texans)
16. Travis Kelce, Chiefs (@ Giants)
17. Brandin Cooks, Patriots (@ Raiders)
18. Keenan Allen, Chargers (vs. Bills)
19. Golden Tate, Lions (@ Bears)
20. Zach Ertz, Eagles (@ Cowboys)

For Week 11, my first overall selection is AB. The Titans are allowing the second-most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers and, more importantly, Ben Roethlisberger is at home. I know participating in DRAFT drafts for the Thursday-Monday slate is difficult for some, but I would highly recommend it for the chance at having Brown in your lineup this week.

In deeper leagues, Jeffery makes a solid choice as your WR/TE 2. Dallas allows the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers and Jeffery is still riding the high of his last game: six receptions, 84 yards, and two TDs against Denver.
