DraftKings NFL Value Plays: Week 10

DraftKings NFL Value Plays: Week 10

Week 9 was undoubtedly the best overall week thus far for DraftKings value plays with solid value games from all, including a monster performance from T.Y. Hilton. Let’s see if we can ride the momentum from last week into this week. Here’s what’s on tap for Week 10.

Quarterback

Ryan Fitzpatrick (TB): $4,900 v. NYJ
We’ve got a double revenge game brewing in Tampa with ‘Downtown’ Josh McCown and Ryan ‘The Black Plague’ Fitzpatrick both squaring off against their former teams. Per league mandate, Ryan Fitzpatrick is once again set to start multiple football games for a last-place team. It’s essentially automatic that whoever the starting quarterback playing in front of Fitzpatrick is will get hurt (Carson Palmer, Marc Bulger, Geno Smith, Jake Locker, Bryce Petty, Trent Edwards, and Ryan Mallett all nod in agreement). Why any team would sign ‘The Black Plague’ is beyond me as he will be throwing footballs for your team in actual NFL games at some point during the season, and your team will be in last-place while he is doing so.

With that being said, Fitzpatrick has a penchant to throw the ball around quite a bit, many of which result in interceptions, but some of which actually result in yards and touchdowns. In his limited time playing for the Bucs in place of an injured Jameis Winston, the ‘BP’ (Black Plague) is averaging about .67 points per attempt which is right up there with Dak Prescott and Russell Wilson (albeit in a much more limited sample size). I’m not saying that the BP is those guys, but all I’m trying to say is that the BP has put up numbers when given the opportunity this season. I’ll play the ‘revenge game’ narrative here for under $5,000 against a generous Jets pass defense, even with top WR Mike Evans suspended.

Running Backs

Bilal Powell (NYJ): $4,000 @ TB
Matt Forte looks likely to miss Sunday’s game in Tampa which leaves Bilal Powell and Elijah McGuire as the two remaining backs in the Jets backfield. McGuire has done very little while Powell went off for 32 points in the last game Forte missed. The Bucs have been more than vulnerable on the ground this season, and are coming off a game in which they let Alvin Kamara go off for two scores. Free Bilal!

Orleans Darkwa (NYG): $4,500 @ SF
”I’ll take starting running backs against the 49ers for $500, Alex.”

The 49ers wouldn’t be able to stop Trent Richardson on the ground. Darkwa has emerged as the Giants lead runner so fire him up without hesitation. It will take a lot more than quitting on their head coach to make me avoid an RB against the 49ers.

Wide Receivers

Sterling Shephard (NYG): $5,500 @ SF
In his first game playing without Odell Beckham and Brandon Marshall, Shephard saw nine targets as the Giants No. 1 WR. Expect similar targets against the 49ers “defense,” and hopefully a touchdown this time. Shephard will be priced above $6,000 before long.

Davante Adams (GB): $5,000 @ CHI
Adams value has undoubtedly taken a hit since the Aaron Rodgers injury, but not as much of a hit as the values of Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb. Adams has been Brett Hundley‘s favorite receiver and is still averaging about 10.6 points per game in the three games with Hundley. Adams has seen 10 targets in two of the three games with Hundley yet has seen his price drop to $5,000. Give him a look against the Bears on Sunday.

Tight Ends

Hunter Henry (LAC): $3,900 @ JAX
Hunter Henry has responded after each one of his down games, averaging 12.6 points in the previous two games following a clunker performance. Despite their defensive prowess, the Jags have actually been vulnerable against TEs, ranking 24th defensively against the position. Henry was overpriced at $4,800 in a prime matchup with the Pats which led to the disappointing two-catch performance. He’s now underpriced coming off the bye at $3,900 so give Henry a look.

Defense/Special Teams

Bears D/ST (CHI): $3,000 v. GB
For the first time in nine years, the Chicago Bears are favored to beat the Green Bay Packers as five-point favorites. Not only do the Bears have a big-play defense, but they get to face the aforementioned Brett Hundley who is definitely not Aaron Rodgers. Expect more struggles from the Packers offense sans Rodgers. Take a chance on the underpriced Bears defense.

That’s it for Week 10. Good luck.
