Fan Duel NHL Lineup Advice: Saturday (11/4)

Nov 4, 2017

Shea Weber has been hot the past few games

Tonight there are 12 games on the main slate. After the first month of the season, we can now begin to identify the best goalies as well as teams that can score goals and those that struggle to keep them out of their own net. These are the clues that I like to exploit when building my cash lineups for Fan Duel. Tonight I went with a top goaltender, two centers that are getting hot and matched them with value plays that are seeing top line minutes on good offensive teams. Because I went with value on my wing, I was able to play two quality defenseman that should provide good floors which is always nice to have with such a large slate of games.

Teams to build your offense around tonight:

Tampa Bay Lightning
Philadelphia Flyers
Florida Panthers
New York Rangers
Winnipeg Jets
Dallas Stars
Los Angeles Kings

Tonight’s top goalie plays for tonight listed in salary order

Always double check lineups to verify the starting goalies each night as they are subject to change.

Jonathan Quick (LA): $9,300 vs. NSH
Martin Jones (SJ): $9,200 vs. ANH
Connor Hellebuyck (WPG): $8,200 vs. MON
Scott Darling (CAR): $7,600 @ ARI
Kari Lehtonen (DAL): $7,500 vs. BUF

Center

Mika Zibanejad (NYR): $7,200 @ FLA

The Rangers are facing the Panthers who are 28th in the league in goals allowed. Zibanejad is the Rangers most dangerous player and one of the core building blocks for my lineup tonight. In his last three games, he has two goals and four assists for a total of 71.4 fantasy points.

Mark Scheifele (WPG): $7,800 vs. MON

Winnipeg is playing well right now posting a 7-1-2 record in their last 10 games. Scheifele is starting to heat up as well after coming off of a hat trick Thursday against Dallas. He has four goals and three assists in his last three games and has a favorable matchup tonight at home versus Montreal.

Wing

Tanner Pearson (LA): $4,600 @NSH

Pearson is playing well on the second unit for the Kings and he has a goal and three assists in his last two games for a total of 50.9 fantasy points.

Kyle Connor (WPG): $3,600 vs. MON

Connor is my choice to pair with Mark Scheifele in my cash lineup tonight and he comes at a great price. He sees plenty of ice time skating on the top units for the Jets and he has one goal and two assists along with eight shots on goal in his last three games.

Pavel Buchnevich (NYR): $4,500 vs. FLA

Buchnevich is another value play and will be a nice pairing with Mika Zibanejad in my cash lineup for tonight. In his last five games, he has four goals and two assists for an average of 18.44 fantasy points in that span.

Jonathan Huberdeau (FLA): $6,600 vs. NYR

The line of Jonathan Huberdeau, Aleksander Barkov and Evgeny Dadonov has been one of the hottest groups lately with a combined nine goals in their last 10 games. I wanted exposure to this group and with the salary that I had remaining, Huberdeau will fit nicely in my lineup. In his last five games, he has two goals and five assists

Defense

Kevin Shattenkirk (NYR): $6,000 vs. FLA

Once again I am targeting the Panthers and their struggles to keep the puck out of their net. Shattenkirk is likely to be heavily involved in the offense for the Rangers tonight. In his last three games, Shattenkirk has four assists and a total of 53.8 fantasy points.

Shea Weber (MON): $5,400 vs. WPG

With several values at forward in my lineup for tonight, I wanted to go with steady point producers in my defense selections. Weber has found his groove lately with two goals and five assists in his last five games. In those last five games, 11.2 points were his lowest fantasy total and he reached the 30-plus point mark twice.

Goalie

Jonathan Quick (LA): $9,300 vs NSH

Tonight’s goalie slate is a bit difficult with many of the top netminders facing each other. In cash games, I like the goalie who I think has the best chance for a win and the 12 points that come with it. Quick and the Kings are facing Nashville tonight who will be on the second night of back-to-back games and even without that Quick has been one of the best goalies this season.
