FanDuel NHL Value Plays: Tuesday (11/28)
There are 10 games on this Tuesday slate with four teams playing their second game in as many nights. With big-name players in great spots tonight, looking for the right value plays will be critical for roster construction. These are some of the best options tonight.
Nick Bjugstad (FLA): $3,900 @ NYR
The Panthers are on the tail end of a back-to-back and will travel into Madison Square Garden to take on the high octane New York Rangers. With the latest news that Evgenii Dadonov will be out with an injury for the next four to six weeks, Nick Bjugstad will continue to see extra time on the second line and first power-play unit. With 63 shots, five goals, and five assists to start the season, Nick Bjugstad has earned the promotion. The New York Rangers are a team who play at a fast pace and in turn create careless turnovers which result in goals against.
Mike Cammalleri (EDM): $3,600 vs. ARI
The Oilers have been the most disappointing team to start the year. As such, changes needed to be made. One way to shake things up was to trade for right winger, Michael Cammalleri. Another bold move, shown last game in Boston, was to move the veteran up to the top line with Connor McDavid. As a “shoot first” player, Cammalleri is in a fantastic spot to rejuvenate his career alongside one of the best players in the NHL. If there is doubt in this play, consider the idea that the Oilers are playing at home against the worst team in the NHL.
Kevin Fiala (NSH): $4,000 vs. CHI
The Nashville Predators will host the Blackhawks tonight. The Preds are firing on all cylinders right now winning nine of their last 12 games. In those 12 games, they have scored 49 goals, which is an average of just over four goals per game. The Chicago Blackhawks are also playing great and some may look to fade this game. Defensively, the Blackhawks appear to be stingy, ranking fourth best in goals allowed per game. However, this ranking is inflated due to the incredible play of goaltender Corey Crawford. With the Blackhawks playing in their second consecutive game, they will likely look to the far less talented Anton Forsberg. All Nashville forwards will be in play tonight against a very overrated defensive team.
Mikhail Sergachev (TB): $4,000 @ BUF
With 15 points on the year, Mikhail Sergachev might be the unsung hero on this offensive juggernaut team. With Steven Stamkos, Nikita Kucherov, and Victor Hedman getting all of the attention, Sergachev is producing on even strength and on the power play. Although the Sabres do not take a lot of penalties, the Lightning have the top-ranked power play with a 26.7% success rate. Allowing 3.42 goals per game, the Buffalo Sabres will struggle to keep the puck out of the back of the net tonight. In a Lightning stack, Sergachev is a great addition.
Thomas Greiss (NYI): $7,500 vs. VAN or Jaroslav Halak (NYI): $7,300 vs. VAN
With the goalies splitting the timeshare in New York, either Greiss or Halak are viable options tonight at a discount. The Canucks have been playing well but will regress offensively. They are a slow-paced team who are ranked 27th for goals scored per game. Conversely, the Islanders are one of the top offensive teams in the NHL and should come away with a win in this game. Again, with so many options to pay up for at forward tonight, looking for value elsewhere will be key.
