Most Accurate Fantasy Football Experts (After 12 Weeks)

The last time we wrote about the most accurate expert standings, Alex Smith and Deshaun Watson were MVP candidates and Kareem Hunt was light years ahead of Alvin Kamara as the top fantasy rookie. As you can see, things have changed quite a bit in just four weeks. Likewise, there has been plenty of movement in the year-to-date expert accuracy standings. Three of the top five current experts are all new to the top 10 in that time, but there are some familiar faces lingering around as well. Today, we’ll give you an update on the standings before the final stretch of action. We’ll also take a look at Week 12’s top finishers while we’re at it. As always, you can check out the entire standings in our accuracy section.

It may be time for Sean Koerner (STATS) to come out with his design for the time machine he has been using. Everyone knows you have it, Sean. After three straight top-two finishes in the season-long expert accuracy standings and now top 15 finished in 8 of the past 10 weeks, he is either using advanced technology or is simply a machine himself. If you are hoping to catch him at this point in the season, you might want to readjust your aim for 2nd place, as Koerner has now posted five consecutive weeks in the top 20 experts, pulling even further ahead of the pack. He has accomplished this by grading as the No. 1 expert at ranking wide receivers, No. 3 for quarterbacks and top 25 at ranking running backs. Congratulations on the continued success Sean!

While Koerner has maintained his spot in the standings over the past four weeks, there has been loads of movement elsewhere. Matthew Freedman (FantasyLabs) has jumped all the way from outside the top 10 to No. 2 in such a short period of time. He has been dominant lately, placing #2, #3, #12 and #5 in those four weeks out of well over 100 experts. On the season, he is top 25 at every position. Likewise, Daily Roto’s staff rankings have soared from outside the top 10 all the way up to No. 3 on the season thanks to top five performances at ranking both quarterbacks and running backs. While Daily Roto and Freedman have staked their claim for a top 10 spot, there is a trio of some of the most consistent most accurate experts as well as some other strong experts to hold off if they want to stay in the top three. Justin Boone (theScore)John Paulsen (4for4.com), and Raymond Summerlin (Rotoworld) are all mainstays in the top 10 and remain there once again this season.

Week 12 Results

To give you a glimpse into the week to week grind for these experts, consider that it was nearly impossible to see the breakouts of Robby Anderson, Jamaal Williams or Joe Mixon coming this past week, but several of them managed to see it coming and recommended fantasy owners to start them. Let’s take a look at the top 10 experts from Week 12, who were right on what most would have called the surprises of the week.

You’ll recognize some familiar names on this list including Bill Enright (FFChamps) who has quickly climbed into the top 10 on the season after finishing as the No. 1 expert in two of the past three weeks and top 10 in four of the past five. That is an incredible accomplishment, and he managed to do it this week by ranking in the top 15 out of over 100 experts in his rankings for quarterbacks, running backs and wide receivers. Some of his top calls were on Ben Roethlisberger, Jamaal Williams and Sammy Watkins, who all performed well above what the consensus projected, just as Enright expected. Well done on another great week, Bill.

We’ll be back at the end of the season to hand out the awards for the most accurate pundits. Until then, good luck to the experts and be sure to check out the experts’ weekly rankings to help with your lineup decisions.
