Players to Fade on FanDuel: Week 11

Players to Fade on FanDuel: Week 11

In this article, we will take a look at players who may be highly owned or overpriced and who you can feel comfortable fading. Let’s go ahead and take a look at some of the options to ignore for Week 11.

Quarterback

Matthew Stafford (DET): $8,000 at CHI
Matthew Stafford has been excellent lately averaging 20.75 FanDuel points per game over his last four games. However, he has an extremely difficult matchup against the Bears this week who have been outstanding against the pass this season. If you take away Aaron Rodgers four-touchdown game against the Bears in Week 4, the Bear’s defense has only allowed a total of five passing touchdowns in the other eight games.

Running Back

Todd Gurley (LAR): $8,700 at MIN
If you read my fade article last week, you might think that I am a Todd Gurley hater, but in reality, I like other options a little bit more. When we are constructing our FanDuel lineups, we should be shooting for a minimum of 2X the player’s salary. If we look at this past Sunday, Gurley did not even hit that number with only 16.6 FanDuel points at $9,600. Despite the $900 decrease in salary, I really think Gurley could struggle to hit the magic 2X number this week against the Vikings, who have only allowed two rushing touchdowns this season and the second-fewest rushing yards per game.

Alfred Morris (DAL): $6,000 vs. PHI
Alfred Morris did not do too well in his first start while Ezekiel Elliott began his six-game suspension. Some people may chalk this up to simply poor game flow since the Falcons were in complete control. However, I believe he will once again struggle in Week 11 against the Eagles, who have allowed a minuscule 42.6 rushing yards per game which is 30 yards per game fewer than the next best defense in that metric.

Wide Receiver

A.J. Green (CIN): $7,800 at DEN
The Bengals’ offense faces a tough challenge as they visit the Broncos in Denver. Even though I think A.J. Green is talented enough to overcome a pair of really good cornerbacks, I do not have a lot of confidence in the person who is throwing him the football. I really think Andy Dalton will struggle in this matchup. For that reason, I will be fading Green.

DeAndre Hopkins (HOU): $7,700 vs. ARI
Another top wide receiver who I will be fading this week is DeAndre Hopkins. Hopkins will likely draw shadow coverage from Patrick Peterson, which really limits his upside in this matchup. In eight games this season, opposing quarterbacks have only thrown in Peterson’s direction a total of 17 times, completing only six of those attempts.

Tight End

Rob Gronkowski (NE): $8,200 at OAK
It is honestly very difficult to determine which of the top four tight ends should be faded this week. All four of them are either in a really good spot or have been the focal point of their team’s offense over the last few games. Therefore, by default, I am choosing to fade Rob Gronkowski since he is the most expensive of the four. I think you are better off saving $200 to $800 on one of the other three options so that you can use the additional salary somewhere else.
