Sunday Stash Report: Week 11 (Fantasy Football)

The Sunday Stash Report continues ahead of Week 11 after another relatively injury free week. Last week’s Stash Report hit on Rex Burkhead, who looks like a viable flex play going forward. Fantasy owners are fresh off another week of injuries, and more underperformance from guys we thought might finally produce (looking at you again Doug Martin). In Week 10, the goal of this report shifted a bit. We are now looking solely at the playoffs with the intent to stash players that could potentially help you win championships.

Aaron Rodgers (QB – GB)
With the Packers road win at Chicago last week, their playoff prospects have improved a bit. All they have to be is alive Week 15 and there’s a chance Aaron Rodgers comes back. He may not be 100% and may be at risk for re-injury a la Tony Romo in 2015, but we know what Rodgers is capable of. If your team is safely in the playoffs and has a roster spot to spare, Rodgers is definitely worth it.

Bruce Ellington (WR – HOU)
Since Tom Savage took over, Bruce Ellington has posted back to back eight-target games. Now, Will Fuller is out at least a week and potentially more. Savage likes Ellington and has a rapport with him dating back to the preseason. DeAndre Hopkins can’t get every target (right?). Ellington could be a viable flex option for the rest of the season.

Keelan Cole (WR – JAX)
With all the talk about Dede Westbrook, what about Keelan Cole? Cole is the guy that has actually been healthy. The Jaguars are now down both of their Allens after Hurns sprained his ankle last week. Marqise Lee is the de facto number one option, but he is always banged up. Also, someone else has to catch the ball. Cole saw eight targets last week and has three consecutive usable fantasy games. The Jaguars have the Colts in Week 13 and then the Texans and 49ers weeks 15 and 16. Just saying.

Devante Mays (RB – GB)
Aaron Jones is done for the season. Ty Montgomery‘s ribs are made of glass. Jamaal Williams is not good at football. Someone has to play running back for the Packers and it is not going to be Aaron Ripkowski. Montgomery’s injury does not seem serious, but he has proven to be a fragile player throughout his career. Williams has failed to impress at every opportunity. That leaves the door open for Devante Mays to end up as the main back for the Packers. It is not necessarily likely and the value of Green Bay’s starting RB isn’t worth as much with Brett Hundley as it is with Aaron Rodgers, but starting RBs in the NFL should be owned (unless they’re Rob Kelley, Paul Perkins, or Eddie Lacy). If Montgomery is unable to play this week, go grab Mays on the off chance that he comes in the game to spell Williams and just simply outplays him.

David Johnson (RB – ARI)
He is owned in most leagues. I know this. His name is here just to keep it out there in the forefront of your mind. If for some reason he is unowned and you are a lock to make the playoffs – go get him. Right now. Stop reading. Pick him up. He may not come back. But if he does, we’re talking about the best RB in football (or second best, if you’re a Le’Veon Bell guy). If he comes back, he will not split carries with 48-year-old Adrian Peterson. AP will see the field for sure, but DJ is DJ. If he comes back Week 14, you’ll be really upset if he’s on the other side of that matchup, especially if you could’ve prevented it.
