FanDuel NBA Value Plays: Friday (12/8)

Geoff Lambert breaks down value plays for Friday’s slate of FanDuel NBA contests.

Welcome again to the Friday edition of my FanDuel values column. Every Friday here at FantasyPros I will give my tops plays under $5,500.

On a night with eight games, there really isn’t a ton of value to be had. At least not at the time of this article. With that said, both guard positions have some decent options to choose from.

Point Guard

Frank Mason Jr. (SAC) $3,900 @ NO
Mason Jr. has been a bit up and down and his minutes vary from game-to-game, but the upside is there and he has a great matchup with the Pelicans who have given up 50.54 Fanduel points over the last four weeks — third worst over that span.

Fred VanVleet (TOR) $4,100 @ MEM
The matchup for VanVleet is not a good one, but he has a high floor due to his assist numbers with the second unit. He has averaged six assists over his last five games. When you combine that with double-digit scoring in three of those five games, VanVleet is a good value option on a night where there aren’t a lot of value plays.

Shooting Guard

J.J. Barea (DAL) $4,900 @ MIL
Dennis Smith Jr. could possibly miss this game and that would be a huge bump for Barea. However, on a night like tonight, I like Barea even if Smith plays. Over his last five games, Barea has gone over 37 FanDuel points twice, both times playing fewer than 25 minutes. The last time he played the Bucks he has 31 FanDuel points in 23 minutes. At $4,900, the upside is there.

E’Twaun Moore (NO) $4,500 vs SAC
Moore has been averaging over 35 minutes per game since Anthony Davis went out with an injury, and while his production hasn’t been anything to write home about, he has been serviceable. I don’t like him as much if Davis makes his return in this game, but if he is out, Moore is a nice cash game value.

Small Forward

Bojan Bogdanovic (IND) $4,800 vs CLE
Bogdanovic is strictly a tournament play, but he has nice upside at his $4,500 price. He has been averaging over 35 minutes in his last four games, and while his production is all over the map, if you’re looking for a low-owned contrarian play for you large tournaments, Bogdanovic could be your guy.

Power Forward

JaMychal Green (MEM) $5,000 vs TOR
Green put up a dud in his last game, but previous to that he had two games with over 28 FanDuel points. His last game is more of the exception then it is the rule. Green should be able to get back on track in this game as he won’t have to guard the Unicorn, Kristaps Porzingis.

Center

Robin Lopez (CHI) $5,200 @ CHA
Center is very top-heavy tonight and there isn’t much under $5,500 that I like. If I was forced to choose, Lopez would be my pick. He isn’t going to win you your contests, but he won’t lose them for you either. He is a good bet to get 24-to-29 FanDuel points, and the salary relief he provides may be worth it.
