FanDuel NBA Value Plays: Wednesday (12/13)

FanDuel NBA Value Plays: Wednesday (12/13)

There are nine games on the FanDuel main slate tonight with 13 players priced at 9,000 or above but three of those are out and two others are game-time decisions. The Alphabet, James Harden, and DeMarcus Cousins are the players priced in the 12K range.

Even though there are less high-priced players than normal because of the injuries, you will still need to free up some salary if you are going to fit a star or two into your lineup tonight. Here are 9 plays that are worth considering as you set your lineup for tonight’s slate of games. Remember to check the news and injury reports, especially in the 30 minutes prior to lock. Use all the information available to you to make the best decision possible for your lineup. Good luck and have fun!

Point Guard

Rajon Rondo (NOP): $5,800 vs. MIL

Coming off of a triple-double Monday night against Houston, Rondo is playing some great ball. He has averaged 38.7 FD points in his last six games. There is no such thing as a safe play in the world of DFS but 26.7 is his worst outing during the last six games. I will take that floor with the major upside that he brings to the table. The matchup against Milwaukee isn’t great specifically. Overall, the Bucks have not played good team defense all year so even if his scoring suffers he should get assists and rebounds.

Terry Rozier (BOS): $4,300 vs. DEN

In the last four games, Rozier is putting together some nice all-around performances. He has averaged 23.5 FD points while playing 25.0 MPG. He has been scoring, dishing out assists, and grabbing some rebounds. He has only surpassed 30 FD points on two occasions this year so his upside is limited but he is a solid play.

Shooting Guard

E’Twaun Moore (NOP): $4,600 vs. MIL

Moore is typically a pretty good floor-guy. He will get you 20-25 points and won’t hurt you or help you much. But in his game on Monday, he showed a little bit of ceiling as he went for 41.1 FD points when he had a career-high 36 points against Houston. He was averaging 25.5 FD points in the four games before that explosion so he is a fairly reliable player. He also logs a lot of minutes for New Orleans.

Jeremy Lamb (CHA): $4,900 at HOU

Expect Lamb to play in place of Nic Batum again tonight. He didn’t play well Monday night but he has a lot of upside. Overall this year he is averaging 27.32 FD points. He has had seven games of 30+ FD points this year. This is a pace-up type game against the Rockets. He had 32.1 FD points in the first meeting against Houston. He is not a lock but his ceiling is pretty high.

Small Forward

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (CHA): $4,800 at HOU

He has been on a tear in his last six games. He has averaged 26.1 FD points during that stretch, which is nice for value. However, what isn’t included in that average is his last game when he went for 42.8 FD points and a 12.6 stinker. What this means is that he is pretty solid with high upside. This is probably a player that I will roster tonight across the board in this pace-up situation against the Rockets.

Wilson Chandler (DEN): $4,100 at BOS

Chandler is back, baby! Actually, he has been back for a few games now but he finally played extended minutes and put up some numbers. After three subpar performances following his return from injury, he has scored 18 real-life points in each of the last games earning 23.3 and 33.1 FD points. I will take that at $4,100. Chandler has decent upside and is one of my favorite plays on the night. Since both Small Forwards are favorites of mine, this might be the position that gives me leverage to pay up for the other studs tonight.

Power Forward

Trey Lyles (DEN): $4,300 at BOS

In the six full games since Nikola Jokic went down with an injury, Lyles has averaged 24.8 FD points and that includes an 11-point debacle last Friday night against Orlando. He is a good rebounder and can score points. He goes against a Celtics defense that is 29th in DVOA. He is still undervalued with Jokic out.

Frank Kaminsky (CHA): $3,800 at HOU

Frank the Tank returned from his injury and logged only 17 minutes on Monday night. However, he earned 27.5 FD points in his limited performance. He has been known to put up some nice numbers when he gets the minutes. He will be going against an up-tempo Rockets team so he should get some opportunity to put the ball in the basket and grab some rebounds. Even he is coming off of injury, his price is too low. In the last five games that he has seen at least 20 minutes, Kaminsky has averaged 25.7 FD points.

Center

Thon Maker (MIL): $3,600 at NOP

He only plays about half of the game but I like the way he has been playing the last two games from a DFS perspective. In two pace-down games against Utah and Dallas, he had 18.1 and 22.2 FD points, respectively. That will not win you a GPP but if you need to punt a position, at $3,600 it will give you some much-needed salary relief. Tonight he goes against the Pelicans who are not exactly lighting the world on fire with their interior defense.
