FanDuel NHL Lineup Advice: Tuesday (12/12)

We have a nine-game slate tonight so there are options at each price range at every position. Some interesting value plays have opened up as teams are dealing with some injuries so grab those players before their prices increase.

Center

Pierre-Luc Dubois (CLS): $4,800 vs. EDM
Dubois has recently moved up to the first forward line and his price hasn’t fully been adjusted so we want to take advantage of that while we can. He has eight points over his last seven games and really seems to be fitting in nicely with the top line which is where we will be focusing this small Blue Jacket stack. He is also on the second power-play unit, so while there is no correlation with the other Columbus players for the power-play, the extra ice time is always a good thing.

Evgeny Kuznetsov (WAS): $7,000 vs. COL
Kuznetsov is the first part of this Washington stack we are looking at today. He has 31 points in 31 games this season and is taking over two shots per game which makes him viable for all formats since he has been so consistent this season. Kuznetsov is on the second forward line and the first power-play unit.

Wing

Artemi Panarin (CLS): $7,200 vs. EDM
Panarin had five assists two games ago and put up 43 FanDuel points. Now, I don’t expect him to be doing that every night, but this new first line for the Blue Jackets is in a groove, and we want to hop on board while we can. He is taking nearly three shots per game but only has seven goals this season. He is on the first forward and first power-play unit. With the amount of ice time he sees, he has been on the wrong side of goal variance this season and is due for a good bounce or two.

Alex Ovechkin (WAS): $8,800 vs. COL
Anytime you have the salary to roster Ovechkin you should do so since passing on him can have so big time negative consequences. He has multi-point potential every single night and is taking nearly five shots per game. He is a game changer and considering he is apart of this Washington stack, the upside is huge here. Ovi is at home against a Colorado team who is giving up over three goals per game and is also on the second night of a back-to-back.

Tom Wilson (WAS): $4,400 vs. COL
Wilson may not be known for his offensive ability, but now that he is on the first forward line we want to have some exposure to him. He has seven points over his last four games, and while that streak may not continue, since he is known more for his physical game compared to pure offense, he is cheap and on the same line as Ovechkin. Anytime you can get a cheap player who plays alongside Ovi you should just hit the lock button and move on.

Tyler Johnson (TB): $5,100 @ STL
Johnson is on the second forward line for Tampa and has nine points over his last seven games. He makes a great one-off in any lineup since he can create a bit of offense on his own, and he also gets you exposure to the best offense in the league. He is taking a bit under two shots per game.

Defense

Vince Dunn (STL): $3,500 vs. TB
Dunn is set to see more playing time soon as St. Louis’ top defender, Alex Pietrangelo, is now on IR. Dunn is on the third defensive pairing but has jumped up to the first power-play unit. This is a huge spot to take advantage of since he is super, super cheap and gets you exposure to one of the best offenses in the league. We should see his price rise in the coming weeks so we want to be a day early when it comes to rostering him.

Zachary Werenski (CLS): $5,400 vs. EDM
Werenski is the last part of this Blue Jackets stack and is one of the more consistent options when it comes to defense. He plays a ton of minutes every game, as he is always on the ice to counter the opposing team’s top line, so we get consistency there. He also is taking nearly three shots per game along with blocking over one shot per game. Adding DFS value in multiple ways is always a great thing.

Goalie

Sergei Bobrovsky (CLS): $8,800 vs. EDM
Bobrovsky is at home tonight and a -166 favorite according to Vegas. He is up against an Edmonton team who is really struggling this season. They are not the same team they were last year, and rostering a goalie against them has been working for most of the season. Bobrovsky has 16 wins in 24 games this season and is coming off a shutout in his most recent game.
