FanDuel NHL Lineup Advice: Tuesday (12/5)

We have big 10-game slate tonight that has some very interesting stacking options on the board.

Center

J.T. Compher (COL): $3,800 vs. BUF
Compher has recently moved up to the top line, and his price is still so low that we want to jump on it before it increases. He is on the top forward line and the second power-play unit going up against a Buffalo team that is allowing over three goals a game. Anytime the Sabres are on the slate, you want to try and roster players against them since they are so bad defensively. Compher is the first part of a Colorado stack we are looking at today.

Mark Scheifele (WPG): $8,100 @ DET
Scheifele isn’t talked about as an elite player in the NHL, but I assure you he is. He has 34 points in 27 games this season along with nine points over his last four games. Unbelievable stuff from this guy, and he doesn’t get the spotlight. He is on the top forward line and the top power-play unit, so we know he will be seeing a ton of ice time. He takes a bit over two shots per game.

Wing

Mikko Rantanen (COL): $5,800 vs. BUF
Rantanen is the next part of this Avalanche stack, and he brings great production for his price. He has 21 points in 25 games this season, taking over two shots per game, and has two goals over his last four games. He is also on the top forward line and the top power-play unit, so we are getting some very nice correlation among these Avalanche players. Again, Buffalo is giving up over three goals per game, so we want to stack against them when they are on the slate.

Max Pacioretty (MON): $6,600 vs. STL
Pacioretty makes a great one-off in this lineup since he can create plenty of offense for himself, and he doesn’t need to be in a stack to reach value. He plays on the top forward line and the second power-play unit for Montreal who is getting hot since the return of their goalie Carey Price. Pacioretty has four points over his last four games and over four shots per game in that span. He has been on the wrong side of goal variance this season, and with the amount of ice time he sees, it will turn around soon.

Blake Wheeler (WPG): $7,700 @ DET
Wheeler is the next part of this Jets stack we are looking at today, and he has been just as hot as Scheifele over the past few games. He has 10 points over his last four games, and with these two stacked together, the upside for multiple points is huge. He is on the top forward line and the top power-play along with taking over three shots per game.

Mathieu Perreault (WPG): $4,200 @ DET
Perreault is the last member of this Jets stack, and he may not be as explosive offensively but still brings plenty to the table. He has 14 points in 15 games this season along with five points over his last four games. As you can see, all of these players have been hot over their last stretch of games, and when one does well, the rest seem to follow along.

Defense

Tyson Barrie (COL): $5,100 vs. BUF
Barrie is the last member of this Avalanche stack. He plays on the third defensive pairing, but the top power-play unit, so we are again getting some nice correlation between the players. He plays over 20 minutes a game, so ice time will never be an issue for him, and he has 19 points in 24 games this season. He also chips in with about one blocked shot per game.

Victor Hedman (TB): $5,700 vs. NYI
Hedman is the top defender for the Lightning. Playing on the top power-play of the best offensive team in the league, it’s hard to pass him up when you have the salary. He takes over two shots per game and is blocking over one shot per game. He will be out there a lot tonight to counter the Isles top line, who has been in form recently.

Goalie

Connor Hellebuyck (WPG): $7,800 @ DET
Hellebuyck is a -130 road favorite tonight at Detroit, who has really been struggling of late. The Red Wings have allowed 24 goals over their past four games, which means with the Jets strong offense they should be in a spot to pick up the win for Hellebuyck. He has 15 wins in 22 games this season and is allowing just over two goals per game.
