Congrats on making it to this point of the season! It’s fantasy playoff time and hopefully you’re in position to make a strong championship push. Even if your team isn’t as strong as you’d like, there are a surprising number of decent fantasy options on the waiver wire for this time of the year.

Despite the lack of injuries from this past weekend, and we’re glad there weren’t any, there are over 20 players with less than 50% ownership based on Yahoo! and ESPN leagues worth owning. We asked our featured experts below to tell us who their favorite pickups are as well as which defenses are worth streaming for your important week ahead. Of course, if your league(s) still have the likes of Rex Burkhead, Josh Gordon, or Josh Doctson to name a few, then those players should be on the top of your list.

Q1. Give us your thoughts on a waiver wire target (or two) you especially like as a pickup.

“I’m not ready to fully trust a Seahawks running back, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t pickup Mike Davis. He’s looked very good when given the opportunity, and we know that Pete Carroll isn’t hesitant to ride one running back if he feels that player is head and shoulders above the rest. Davis has a burst that we haven’t seen out of Eddie Lacy or Thomas Rawls this season, making him my No. 1 waiver wire add at the running back position. Don’t be shy about using the rest of your FAAB budget to get him, as it’s not often you find a 16-carry running back on waivers.”

“At this stage of the game, I’d spend my full remaining FAAB% to get my hands on Mike Davis in Seattle. The offense has been striving to find balance all season and they haven’t been able to do it with any combination of Lacy, Rawls, and McKissic. Davis was banged up in Week 12 but found his way back to the lineup and sits atop the pecking order in the Seattle backfield. You won’t love the matchup in Week 14, but if you’re looking for help at RB, Davis is the play and could be a helpful tool for the fantasy playoffs.”

“There are actually several good candidates this week in my opinion, but my personal favorite is Marquise Goodwin. He’s actually been a steady producer for several weeks, but on Sunday with Jimmy Garoppolo under center, he showed that he wasn’t just someone reliant on the big play, catching all eight of his targets with a long of just 20 yards against a decent Chicago defense. With matchups on the horizon against the Texans and Titans, Goodwin should instantly be considered a reliable WR3 at worst in the playoffs. If I’ve made the playoffs and I’m struggling at wide receiver, I’m spending 75% of my remaining budget on him, and frankly, would be willing to spend it all if I have the depth to cover any injuries elsewhere.”

“Peyton Barber is not a great talent, nor is he in a great offense, but he did have 27 touches for over 140 yards in Week 13. That is exactly the type of situation you’ve been holding your FAAB back for, so don’t hesitate to spend it all to acquire the 20+ touches per week for your fantasy team. He may even take over the job from Doug Martin before he comes back from his concussion.”

Q2. For owners renting a D/ST in Week 13, what readily available option (under 40%) should they target and why?

“It hasn’t failed yet, so why not snag the defense that’s playing against the Browns. In Week 14, that’s the Packers, who are available nearly everywhere. It’s not so much about them, but more about the fact that the Browns have allowed 19 sacks and nine turnovers in their last five games. They also rarely score more than 20 points, making the Packers defense a high-floor streamer.”

“The Browns continue to be the NFL’s low-hanging fruit and while Josh Gordon showed his presence bolsters their receiving corps, it didn’t stop DeShone Kizer from making mistakes. He’s been picked off in every game but two this season and is a good bet for more against the Green Bay Packers in Week 14.”

“For me, it’s Green Bay and the reason why is pretty simple – the Packers play the Browns. Josh Gordon looked excellent, without question, but even though the Chargers looked to be disappointing all game, they still put forward a decent effort. That’s because DeShone Kizer may be the single worst red zone quarterback of all time, and is nearly a guarantee to take a sack or throw a critical interception near the end zone. I’d consider Cincinnati, too, but I’d look to the Packers first as they try to keep themselves in playoff contention. ”

“At this point, you’d have to feel comfortable streaming a random Big 12 defense against DeShone Kizer and the Browns. This week, the Packers are the lucky team, trying to keep their playoffs hopes alive against Cleveland. Green Bay hasn’t been too shabby of late either, with 16 sacks and 6 forced turnovers over their past four games. They are not only the best streaming option, but among the top handful of DSTs across the board this weekend.”
