FanDuel NHL Lineup Advice: Thursday (1/18)

FanDuel NHL Lineup Advice: Thursday (1/18)

We have a 10-game slate tonight, so the options are plentiful at each spot. If you multi enter GPPs, tonight is looking to be big since there are so many line combinations to pair together. Ownership should be spread out tonight since there are 10 games, so you can load up on the popular options.

Center

Mika Zibanejad (NYR): $6,400 vs. BUF
Zibanejad is the first part of this Rangers stack we are looking at, and he has a great matchup tonight. He is up against the Buffalo Sabres, who are giving up over three goals per game. Anytime they are on the slate you want to stack against them. Zibanejad is on the first forward line and the first power-play unit, so plenty of ice time against this weak defensive team. He is taking over two shots per game and has two goals in his last four games.

Auston Matthews (TOR): $7,700 @ PHI
Matthews has two points in his last five games and is now up against the Flyers, who are giving up nearly three goals per game. He is the first part of a full first-forward line stack we are looking at for the Maple Leafs. The Flyers are on the edge of a failed season. He is taking over three shots per game and blocking over one shot per game.

Wing

Pavel Buchnevich (NYR): $5,400 vs. BUF
Buchnevich is in a bit of slump right now, as he only has two points over his last eight games. Regardless of his slump, he is in a great spot to bounce back tonight since he is up against the Sabres, who are giving up over three goals per game. He is also on the first forward line and the first power-play unit, so plenty of double-dipping on potential points. Buchnevich is taking over two shots per game.

Rick Nash (NYR): $6,000 vs. BUF
Nash is coming off a big two-goal game where he took seven shots. He is now up against one of the worst teams in the league, so ride the hot hand to more goals. Nash is now on the first forward line and the first power-play unit. He is taking over three shots per game and can chip in with a blocked shot every now or then. Nash should be good for any format.

Zach Hyman (TOR): $4,500 @ PHI
Hyman is a much cheaper option tonight and could be considered a bit of a punt play. He only has 22 points in his 46 games this season, but with the salary savings he allows a full stack into this lineup. He is also on the first forward line with Matthews, so there’s plenty of upside for him. Hyman just needs to put one real NHL point on the board.

William Nylander (TOR): $5,900 @ PHI
Nylander has four points in his last five games and is the last part of this Toronto first forward line. He is also on the first power-play line with Matthews, so 100% shared ice time for them, bringing plenty of potential to double dip on points. He is taking about two shots per game.

Defense

Mikhail Sergachev (TB): $4,600 vs. VGK
Sergachev is now on the first power-play unit since the Tampa Bay top defender, Victor Hedman, is out with an injury. His price hasn’t been fully adjusted, and because it’s still too low we want to jump on him now. He makes a good one-off in this lineup since his potential for points is high tonight. Getting exposure to Stamkos and Kucherov is always a good idea since this is one of the best offensive lines in the league.

Kevin Shattenkirk (NYR): $5,200 vs. BUF
Shattenkirk only has one point in his last seven games, but being on the first power-play unit and seeing nearly 20 minutes per game, he is due for some positive regression. This is the perfect spot for him to get back on track since he is playing the Sabres, who are giving up over three goals per game. The Sabres take way too many penalties, so there is massive upside for this Rangers stack as they will be seeing the ice plenty.

Goalie

Braden Holtby (WAS): $9,100 @ NJ
Holtby has 24 wins in 33 starts this season and is in a good spot to get a win tonight against the Devils, who only have one win in their last eight games. They are struggling right now in all aspects of the game. We want to trust the always dangerous Capitals offense to score some goals and pick up the win for Holtby. He has four wins in his last five starts, so he is in form and a nice option tonight.
