FanDuel NBA Value Plays: Wednesday (2/7)
There are only 6 games on the FanDuel main slate tonight. There are two games with projected totals of 221. The Minnesota-Cleveland game and the Indiana-New Orleans game are both expected to be competitive games. All six of the games have projected totals above 200 points.
There are ten players priced at $9,000 or above with four of them being $10,900 or above. Anthony Davis is the highest priced player at $11,900. If you are looking to play some of the studs, then you’ll need to find some value elsewhere to get salary relief.
Here are 9 plays that are worth considering as you set your lineup for tonight’s slate of games. Remember to check the news and injury reports, especially in the 30 minutes prior to lock. Use all the information available to you to make the best decision possible for your lineup. Good luck and have fun!
Rajon Rondo (NOP): $4,800 vs. IND
Rondo is not a safe pick. He should be nowhere near your cash games but he has nice upside. He could really blow open a 6-game slate in GPPs. In the last three games, he has averaged 31.5 FD points. Since mid-December, he has played 28+ minutes nine times. In those nine games, he has averaged 33.1 FD points.
Tyus Jones (MIN): $3,600 at CLE
25.4 FD points back in early January against Cleveland. He is averaging 22 FD points in the 10 games since Mid-December that he has played 20+ minutes. Jeff Teague is the starter but Tyus Jones is passing the eye test and pushing Teague. Cleveland is terrible defensively. At near minimum price, he makes an interesting GPP flyer.
Manu Ginobili (SAS): $4,300 at PHO
Ginobili had 34.7 FD points in only 19 minutes in early January when he last played against the Suns. He has had 20+ FD points in three of his last four games. This should be a pace-up game for the Spurs. The Suns are 28th in DVOA. Ginobili doesn’t get a ton of minutes but he is averaging 23 MPG in his last four games since returning from injury. He is definitely a player that can get hot. He has a nice floor with the possibility of a high ceiling against a team like Phoenix, who is on a back-to-back.
Kyle Korver (CLE): $3,600 vs. MIN
In early January, when the Cavs and Timberwolves previously played, Korver had 28.9 FD points in 22 minutes. He has gone over 20 FD points in two of his last five games. He is a risky play, especially since the Cavs are playing poorly right now, but if Dwayne Wade sits then he becomes an intriguing play at this price.
Josh Jackson (PHO): $5,900 vs. SAS
This position is not very strong in terms of value tonight. Jackson is playing really well and has taken hold of a starting spot. He is an explosive player. I say ride his hot streak. He is priced up but is due for a breakout game. Even if he stays consistent, he will help you on a short slate. In the last seven games, he has earned 29+ FD points in six of those games. He had 23.0 FD points the last time he went against the Spurs. This was in only 22 minutes. His minutes have increased since then.
Bojan Bogdanovic (IND): $5,800 at NOP
He is averaging 32.7 FD points in his last four games. He is playing really well. Darren Collison is out and if Oladipo sits again, then roster him with some confidence. He can definitely shoot the ball. He makes an interesting GPP play. There isn’t much low-priced value tonight at this position, so he makes for a decent option.
Domantas Sabonis (IND): $5,100 at NO
Sabonis has earned 30+ FD points in six of his last 10 games. This is a good matchup and Sabonis becomes an even better play if Turner is still nursing a sore knee. On the year, he is averaging 26.5 FD points. He is a decent cash game play.
Jeff Green (CLE): $3,700 vs. MIN
23.9 FD points in his last 10 games since mid-December that he has logged 25+ minutes. In early January, he had 28.1 FD points when these two teams met up in Minnesota. He tends to play well when Kevin Love and Dwayne Wade are both out. He is a GPP flyer for tonight.
Bam Adebayo (MIA): $4,200 vs. HOU
Drummond and KAT are in nice spots. Anthony Davis is Anthony Davis, plus he is in a good matchup. I like to pay up at the Center position on FanDuel, especially on a short slate. It is just so hard to replace those raw points. However, if you have to pay down you could take a chance on Bam. If Kelly Olynyk is out then you could roll with Bam with some confidence. Bam has earned 40.5 and 39.6 FD points in two of his last three games. Houston is on a back-to-back.
