FanDuel NHL Value Plays: Tuesday (3/27)

Mar 27, 2018

There are nine games scheduled this Tuesday night in what appears to be a high-scoring evening. A few games are projected to see more than six goals and there are also some heavy favorites as teams are starting to mail it in. Let’s take a look at some FanDuel value plays so we can afford the high-priced studs.

Jean-Gabriel Pageau (OTT): $4,400 vs. NYI
We will see two of the more disappointing 2017-18 NHL teams face off tonight in a high-scoring game. Vegas has set the over/under game total at 6.5 with very little defense expected. The Islanders own the most goals against and have found no answer for any team all season long. The Senators are no offensive juggernaut, but given the opportunities, they should be able to score. Jean-Gabriel Pageau will center the second forward line, while also logging time on the top power-play unit. With plenty of chances against a weak team, Pageau is a great salary-saving option.

Bryan Rust (PIT): $4,700 @ DET
The Pittsburgh Penguins are a -220 road favorite as they travel into Detroit. Bryan Rust has moved to the second forward line alongside Evgeni Malkin. Currently ranked third overall in points scored, Malkin is having a great season and helping those who play alongside him. Henrik Zetterberg will be line-matched against the Sidney Crosby line leaving a tasty matchup against Dylan Larkin for the second Penguins line.

Ty Rattie (EDM): $4,000 vs. CLS
It appears Edmonton has finally found a winger who can compliment Connor McDavid. In the last three games, Rattie has scored four points and six in his last seven. McDavid is scorching hot right now, scoring multiple points each game, regardless of the opponent. The Oilers have been out of the playoffs for some time and are now seeing what they have in their young prospects. The more time Rattie can build chemistry with McDavid is very valuable to Edmonton. They will give Rattie as many opportunities as possible to score from here on out.

Nick Leddy (NYI): $4,800 @ OTT
The Islanders defenseman has seen a consistent price drop across the industry and is now sticking at a sub $5,000 cost. Although for the most part, this is justifiable, the offensive d-man has upside at this price. Playing on the top defensive pairing and quarterbacking the top power-play, Leddy will get enough ice-time for fantasy production. This game is projected to see the highest goal total and Leddy will have plenty of chances to score.

Keith Kinkaid (NJ): $7,800 vs. CAR
The New Jersey Devils goaltender is quietly having a very productive season. With a 21-10-2 record, 2.85 GAA, and .911 SV%, he has been a big reason for the success of the Devils. Tonight, the Devils will host the Hurricanes who will be playing on the back end of a back-to-back. Carolina is notorious for firing a lot of low-quality shots on goal which gives Kinkaid a great floor. This game is “must win” for the Devils as they sit just one point ahead of the ninth-place Flordia Panthers in the standings. As a -150 home favorite, the win is by no means guaranteed, but this is the lowest priced goalie worth considering tonight.
