DraftKings MLB Lineup Advice: Friday (4/13) PREMIUM
One pitcher stands out from the pack as the top option on tonight’s slate in all game types. He was a natural choice as the top pitching option, and he’s priced accordingly as the most expensive starting pitcher tonight. I have three suggested SP2 options to pair with the top arm, and all are priced under $8,000 to leave salary relief for some bats. The touted bats below include a mix of studs and bargains.
Gerrit Cole (HOU): $12,100 vs. Rangers
I didn’t leave much suspense in the intro for who the top pitcher was, but he’s a fairly obvious top pick tonight. In his first year with the Astros, Cole is absolutely dominating. The flame-throwing right-hander has made two starts spanning 14.0 innings, and he’s twirled a sparkling 0.64 ERA (1.46 FIP, 1.67 xFIP, and 1.54 SIERA), 0.71 WHIP, 5.9% BB%, 43.1% K%, and 19.6% SwStr%, according to FanGraphs.
His first start of the year was against the Rangers on April 1, and he held them to just one run on two hits, three walks, and 11 strikeouts in seven innings. Since facing them in that start, the Rangers have been bitten by the injury bug, and their lineup has lost Rougned Odor and Elvis Andrus. It should be a cakewalk for Cole tonight, and gamers can comfortably lock him into rosters of all game types tonight.
