With a few teams out of action Monday we’ve got an eight-game featured slate on DraftKings. Even with a smaller amount of games we’ve got plenty of great options on the mound and at the plate.

Pitchers
Gerrit Cole (HOU): $12,600 vs. LAA
Gerrit Cole has been incredible with his new ball club in Houston, and he leads qualified starters with a gaudy 39.8% strikeout rate. That strikeout rate is backed by a 15.3% swinging strike rate, 0.96 ERA, and 2.36 FIP through four starts. Cole has done it by going away from his two-seam fastball and increasing his breaking ball usage. He is throwing his slider a career-high 23.7% of the time and his curveball 16.6% of the time, both career highs. In short, there are underlying reasons to believe Cole’s improvements are legitimate. The Angels are no pushover. They have a .335 wOBA against right-handers this season, but Cole is the most talented pitcher on this slate and the one to lean on in cash games.
Mike Leake (SEA): $6,300 @ CWS
No one is ever excited to play Mike Leake, but on a slate where we want to fit in Gerrit Cole and Coors Field bats we need an affordable SP2. In his ninth big league season, we know what to expect from Leake. He has a career 3.99 ERA, 4.14 FIP, and 6.12 K/9. Leake is an untoasted piece of plain white bread. Bland, but palatable. He takes on a Chicago White Sox team that has a .308 wOBA and 24.7% strikeout rate against right-handed pitching this season.
