Max Scherzer (WAS): $12,700 vs. PIT
I guess I gave this recommendation away in my intro since Max Scherzer is the highest priced pitcher on DraftKings. Sure, there are a variety of over $10,000 pitchers to choose from and they all should have some success but Scherzer is my guy. He has been the most consistent of all the aces available on Tuesday with at least nine strikeouts in five of his six starts while allowing two runs or fewer in every outing. The Pirates don’t strike out much as a team against righties so far this season with a 19.4% strikeout rate, but they don’t face Scherzer every day either. Scherzer has done just fine against Pirates’ hitters over his career allowing a .273 wOBA with a 34.7% strikeout rate in 49 plate appearances. Lock me in for about 10 strikeouts while allowing only a run or two and picking up a win for my ace of the night.
