Hope everyone had a safe Memorial Day watching some baseball, grilling out and remembering why we celebrate the holiday. Tuesday brings us a big 14-game MLB DFS slate that includes a game at Coors Field. Usually, we have a difficult decision between rostering players at the hitter haven or paying up for pitching but with limited high-priced pitchers to choose from and reasonable pricing of Rockies and Giants bats, the choice is pretty easy for Tuesday night.
As always, be sure to pay close attention to the lineups when they are released and monitor the weather leading up to game time. Pitchers
Blake Snell (TB): $10,600 @ OAK
Blake Snell’s salary is much higher then I want to pay for him but with a plethora of value bats on the slate and not much else to get too excited about in the high-priced pitching department, Snell tops my pitcher list. Snell has been dealing in his last two starts allowing just two runs over 12 2/3 innings against the Red Sox and Angels while striking out eight hitters in each game. Now, he will get to face an Athletics team that is struggling to hit left-handed pitching with the third highest strikeout rate (27.2%) and a league-worst wOBA (.249) and wRC+ (55) over the last 30 days. Snell has also been very good overall with eight quality starts in his last nine outings.
