Monday starts off the work week with a good-looking nine-game MLB DFS slate. The pitching options are plentiful with most hovering around the same price range so choosing which one to roster could hold the key to a successful DFS night. Meanwhile, on the hitting side there are a couple of spots in particular that draw my attention, so rostering a couple of mini-stacks seems like the optimal play to get exposure to hitters from those teams.
As always, be sure to pay close attention to the lineups when they are released and monitor the weather leading up to game time. Pitcher
Jose Berrios (MIN): $8,400 vs. DET
Like I mentioned in the introduction there is a wide variety of pitchers that interest me on Monday’s slate (see the list below). That said, I’m always intrigued by Jose Berrios when he is pitching at home, especially against a right-handed heavy lineup like the Tigers. Since the start of the 2017 season, Berrios has a sparkling 2.62 ERA with a 26.9% strikeout rate when pitching at home. During that same timeframe, right-handed hitters are batting just .184 off Berrios with a .223 wOBA in Minnesota. Berrios and the Twins are also a big home favorite. Strikeout upside with a good shot at a quality start and a win should give Berrios a high floor with some upside.
