DRAFT MLB Lineup Advice: Friday (6/15)

It’s a jam-packed 15-game docket on Friday and DRAFT has you covered with two time slates to join your DFS contests: 15-game (7:05 pm start) and four-game (9:35 pm start). Four teams are deemed as heavy favorites (-200 odds, or greater) going into the Friday slate: Cleveland, New York (Yankees), Houston, and Los Angeles (Dodgers).

As for the offense, five games were given over/unders of at least nine total runs. The COL/TEX matchup leads the way with an O/U of 10.5 (started as 11 total runs). Per usual, expect to see plenty of bats from that contest reflected in our rankings.

This article is posted well before lineups are released by the managers. If you have a question, feel free to reach me on Twitter @CharlieSideHstl.

It’s Kluber Day! Kluber is the best. Kluber number one. He’s allowed two earned runs, or less, in six consecutive starts with three shutouts during that span. Kluber has also K’d at least seven batters in five straight appearances. Surprisingly, Kluber has only faced the divisional opponent twice in the past two years. Not surprisingly, he’s dominated: 19 strikeouts and one earned run in 13.2 innings of work.

I nearly put Stripling second in the rankings, but just couldn’t bump KPax down. Vegas has the Dodgers listed as -200 favorites with an over/under of only 7.5 total runs (lowest total on the slate). Stripling has allowed two earned runs, or less, in seven straight starts for Los Angeles. He’s also struck out at least seven batters in five of the past six performances.

14. Alex Bregman, HOU (@ KC)

15. Eric Thames, MIL (vs. PHI)

16. Greg Bird, NYY (vs. TB)

17. Edwin Encarnacion, CLE (vs. MIN)

18. Carlos Correa, HOU (@ KC)

19. Evan Gattis, HOU (@ KC)

20. Paul Goldschmidt, ARI (vs. NYM)

The line for who is the favorite in the matchup between COL/TEX has moved back-and-forth all day. As I write this, Texas is the slight favorite (-110), but it could become a coin toss to Vegas. My money would be on the Rockies. Even though they are away from home, Colorado has a team wOBA of .346 (fifth-highest) against left-handed pitchers. Arenado (.385 ISO) and Story (.357 ISO) lead the pack and, in turn, lead our list of infielders for Friday. In an added boost to the Rockies shortstop, Story is 13-for-25 (.520) with four doubles and three home runs in the past week.

Remember how Machado used to be a staple in the top three for our infield rankings? Well, he’s 7-for-35 (.200) in the month of June. However, we’re plugging him back into the top ten on Friday as his Orioles host the Marlins. Jose Urena has allowed at least three earned runs in six of the last seven starts and he has a 5.27 ERA in 27.1 innings on the road this season. Even with his current slump, Machado still carries a .352 AVG at home this season and 12 of his 38 hits have left the yard.

Outfielders

1. Aaron Judge, NYY (vs. TB)

2. Charlie Blackmon, COL (@ TEX)

3. Mike Trout, LAA (@ OAK)

4. Bryce Harper, WSH (@ TOR)

5. Joey Gallo, TEX (vs. COL)

6. George Springer, HOU (@ KC)

7. Rhys Hoskins, PHI (@ MIL)

8. Michael Brantley, CLE (vs. MIN)

9. Corey Dickerson, PIT (vs. CIN)

10. Hunter Renfroe, SD (@ ATL)

11. Mookie Betts, BOS (@ SEA)

12. Scott Schebler, CIN (@ PIT)

13. Juan Soto, WSH (@ TOR)

14. Austin Meadows, PIT (vs. CIN)

15. Cody Bellinger, LAD (vs. SF)

16. Michael Conforto, NYM (@ ARI)

17. Brandon Nimmo, NYM (@ ARI)

18. Adam Eaton, WSH (@ TOR)

19. Nomar Mazara, TEX (vs. COL)

20. Starling Marte, PIT (vs. CIN)

The Yankees are currently tied with the Astros and Rangers with the highest implied run total in the slate (5.4 total runs). Judge is batting .294 (5-for-17) with one double and one home run (two walks) in the past week. He’s also recorded at least one hit in four straight starts. His opposing pitcher for Friday, Nathan Eovaldi, has allowed a combined seven earned runs in his last two outings (three total home runs).

I’ve mentioned the Colorado infielders from the COL/TEX matchup on Friday. Now, let’s discuss a bat from Texas. Gallo hasn’t cracked our top five rankings all season and, yet, he breaks through on Friday. Again, the Rangers are projected to score the most runs on Friday. Also, Gallo leads Texas with a .319 ISO against right-handed pitchers since 2017.
