Nathan Eovaldi (TB): $8,500 @ Twins
Eovaldi has made an incredible return from his second Tommy John surgery, and he’s really shoving of late. In five starts spanning 32.1 innings over the last 30 days, he’s tallied a 3.06 ERA (3.97 FIP, 3.12 xFIP, and 3.03 SIERA), 0.90 WHIP, 3.3% BB%, 26.8% K%, and 12.2% SwStr%, according to FanGraphs. He has a deep arsenal that’s helped him shut down lefties and righties alike, holding the former to a .231 wOBA and latter to a .278 wOBA this year. He and the Rays are small road favorites at -115, per Pinnacle, and the matchup isn’t too intimidating. Minnesota ranks tied for 16th in wRC+ versus right-handed pitchers (95), tied for 13th in wRC+ at home (98), and 23rd in wRC+ over the last 30 days (87). Eovaldi’s my favorite pitching selection on the slate, and he’ll likely be a popular pick.
