The middle-tier priced pitchers are robust tonight, and it offers sizable scoring upside. That’s outstanding because a couple of pricey stacks standout as my favorites tonight, and saving at pitcher is a must in order to get some of the key pieces.

Kyle Gibson (MIN): $8,600 @ Royals
Gibson’s actually the most expensive pitcher I’m rolling out in lineups and touting tonight, and I actually like the guy opposite him — who will likely be the chalk at pitcher as an SP2 — better. I’m willing to use the duo together, but more on that other not-so-mystery pitcher below. As for Gibson, he’s coming off of a strong first half that follows a solid finish to last season. In 19 starts spanning 115.2 innings, he’s earned a 3.42 ERA (3.79 FIP, 3.81 xFIP, and 4.07 SIERA, according to FanGraphs, as well as a 3.75 DRA, per Baseball Prospectus), 1.23 WHIP, 9.6% BB%, 23.7% K%, and 11.8% SwStr%. Gibson’s new found penchant for punchouts has made him a strong daily option at times this year, and he’s an especially strong option against a dreadful Royals squad. The Royals rank tied for 26th in wRC+ (81) against right-handed pitchers this year, 29th in wRC+ (82) at home, and dead last in wRC+ (70) over the last 30 days. Gibson should have little trouble carving them up tonight, and he and the Twins are -123 road favorites, according to Pinnacle.
