DraftKings MLB Lineup Advice: Tuesday (7/10) PREMIUM
We have a jam-packed 15-game MLB slate on Tuesday night. There are a pair of high-priced aces on the mound to consider but we also have a game at Coors Field and numerous other high-priced sluggers in favorable matchups. We’ll need to make sacrifices somewhere during roster construction and be willing to take on a little bit of risk to maximize upside.
As always, be sure to pay close attention to the lineups when they are released and monitor the weather leading up to game time. Rich Hill (LAD): $8,600 @ SD
As you can probably tell from my first pitcher selection, I’m choosing to save salary and take on risk at pitcher instead of with my bats on Tuesday’s slate. While both Trevor Bauer and Justin Verlander are fine options they cost about $5,000 more than the mid-range options which is where I will live on this slate. Rich Hill is the ultimate risk/reward pitcher on the slate. He left his last start after five innings due to neck tightness and has had a slew of nagging injuries over the last few seasons that often force him to exit early from games. Hill is just as likely to leave the game in the first inning as he is to strikeout double-digit hitters. I’m willing to roll the dice in a plus matchup against the Padres. The Padres have the third highest strikeout rate (24.5%) against lefties this season and rank near to bottom in wOBA (.295) and wRC+ (87). If you want more safety from your cash game pitcher than give a similarly priced Jhoulys Chacin or Jose Quintana a look.
