As we start to slide into the MLB All-Star break, I’m feeling a little more accepting of taking on some risk with my lineup for Saturday night’s six-game slate on FanDuel. It is like when you get to the last hand of a shoe during a round of blackjack or your last hurrah before you end your vacation, you want to go out with a bang by upping the ante a little bit and taking a swing for the fences. So, let’s embrace the risk and variance of baseball with our Saturday night lineup.

Jon Gray (COL): $7,000 vs. SEA
My risky swing for the fences approach to Saturday’s slate starts and ends with my recommendation of Gray. He will return to the Rockies rotation on Saturday after getting demoted to the minor leagues with a 5.77 ERA on the season. However, it is those circumstances that have me very intrigued to roster him in both cash game and GPP lineups as he is fighting for his rotation spot. Gray may not have deserved the demotion in the first place if you look at his underlying stats with a 2.82 xFIP, .386 BABIP and 28.9% strikeout rate. Gray will have to overcome pitching at Coors Field against the Mariners in a game with a 12 run Vegas total but he has the biggest strikeout upside on the slate which should allow him to put up fantasy points even if a few runs are scored against him. I’m all-in on my last hand before the All-Star break.
