Week 16 Fantasy Baseball Rankings

Week 16 Fantasy Baseball Rankings

Now that the All-Star break has come and passed, we will turn our attention to the homestretch of the fantasy baseball season. Each week will be crucial whether you are trying to make up ground to get in the money or whether you are holding onto first place for dear life. Each week, I build my rankings to help you through the difficult decisions. They are based on injuries, ballparks, matchups and playing time trends. Even more so, Coors and two-start pitchers throw the rankings for a loop. Let’s dive into my rankings for week 16 of the fantasy baseball season.

Coors Field Watch

After going on the road to Arizona for three games, the Rockies return home to Coors for five contests this week. They’ll start by welcoming the inter-league Astros in for a short two-game series, then round out the week with Oakland coming to town for a three-game weekend series. As you might imagine, hitters from all three teams will see sizeable bumps in their rankings this week with pitchers taking blows if they pitch in those matchups.

Two-Start Risers

There are 39 two-start pitchers available to fantasy owners this week. As usual, a good 9 of them are entirely unusable and another 14 can only be used in one start. Speaking of which, there are some sneaky one-start streamers from this group including Felix Pena versus the Chicago White Sox and Jason Vargas at Pittsburgh. That leaves us with 16 who can and should be used in both of their starts this week. Among them, 6 are must-starts every time they take the mound including Jose Berrios, but now leaving out Ross Stripling. We are now down to 10, who aren’t always startable, but should do the trick in both outings this week. Let’s take a look at their matchups.

Now let’s shift our attention to my full player rankings for the week.
