DRAFT MLB Lineup Advice: Monday (8/6)

DRAFT MLB Lineup Advice: Monday (8/6)

We have a 10-game slate on Monday night’s docket. DRAFT is providing us with two-time options to draft: 7:10 pm EST start (10 games) and 9:40 pm EST start (three games). Four of the matchups have an over/under of at least nine total runs. The game at Coors Field leads the slate with 11 total runs. The Rockies are favored in that contest.

The strongest favorites on Monday are the Indians, Yankees, and Cubs. All three teams are given -200 odds, or greater, on Monday night. All three clubs will have their pitcher in the top 10 in our pitcher rankings.

This article is posted well before lineups are released by the managers. If you have a question, feel free to reach me on Twitter @CharlieSideHstl.

Pitchers

1. Trevor Bauer, CLE (vs. MIN)

2. Charlie Morton, HOU (@ SF)

3. Noah Syndergaard, NYM (vs. CIN)

4. Zack Godley, ARI (vs. PHI)

5. Luke Weaver, STL (@ MIA)

6. Jake Arrieta, PHI (@ ARI)

7. Cole Hamels, CHC (@ KC)

8. Lance Lynn, NYY (@ CWS)

9. Dereck Rodriguez, SF (vs. HOU)

10. Matthew Boyd, DET (@ LAA)

Bauer just faced the Twins in his last start. He was good, not great, posting only three strikeouts in 6.1 innings of work and allowing two earned runs. However, Bauer has punched out 14 Twins in 12 total innings against them this season. Minnesota is 19th in runs scored (495 runs in 110 games) this season.

An under-the-radar option in the three-team contests will be Godley. He’s struck out at least six batters in four straight games. He’s also allowed one earned run, or less, in four of the last six appearances. Philadelphia is 20th in runs scored (491 runs in 111 games) and third in team strikeouts (1,062) this season.

Infielders

1. Jose Ramirez, CLE (vs. MIN)

2. Matt Carpenter, STL (@ MIA)

10. Giancarlo Stanton, NYY (@ CWS)

11. Paul Goldschmidt, ARI (vs. PHI)

13. Anthony Rizzo, CHC (@ KC)

14. Alex Bregman, HOU (@ SF)

15. Jean Segura, SEA (@ TEX)

16. Jurickson Profar, TEX (vs. SEA)

17. Ryon Healy, SEA (@ TEX)

18. Jedd Gyorko, STL (@ MIA)

19. Paul DeJong, STL (@ MIA)

20. Jose Abreu, CWS (vs. NYY)

Carpenter is crushing the ball lately. He’s batting .423 (11-for-26) in the past week, with two doubles and four home runs. He’s even produced a home run in three consecutive games and two hits in three of the last four starts.

Whenever Cruz returns to Texas, he’s on my radar. He owns a .297 career average in 413 games at Rangers Ballpark. Since 2017, he’s 20-for-51 in 13 games, with seven doubles and three home runs.

Outfielders

1. Mike Trout, LAA (vs. DET)

2. Charlie Blackmon, COL (vs. PIT)

3. Carlos Gonzalez, COL (vs. PIT)

4. Gregory Polanco, PIT (@ COL)

5. Rhys Hoskins, PHI (@ ARI)

6. Starling Marte, PIT (@ COL)

7. Aaron Hicks, NYY (@ CWS)

8. A.J. Pollock, ARI (vs. PHI)

9. Shin-Soo Choo, TEX (vs. SEA)

10. David Peralta, ARI (vs. PHI)

11. Joey Gallo, TEX (vs. SEA)

12. Mitch Haniger, SEA (@ TEX)

13. Denard Span, SEA (@ TEX)

14. Brandon Nimmo, NYM (vs. CIN)

15. Brett Gardner, NYY (@ CWS)

16. Justin Upton, LAA (vs. DET)

17. Odubel Herrera, PHI (@ ARI)

18. Kyle Schwarber, CHC (@ KC)

19. Corey Dickerson, PIT (@ COL)

20. Nick Williams, PHI (@ ARI)

The Rockies lead the slate with six implied runs on Monday night. Hence, two of the top three outfielders are with Colorado. Blackmon leads the team with a .275 ISO against right-handed pitchers since 2017. As for Gonzalez, he’s batting .333 in the past week and has a .196 ISO against righties.

Haniger’s Mariners have an implied run total of 5.6 runs on Monday, tied for second-most with the Yankees. While Haniger is only batting .269 in the past week (7-for-26), he’s 6-for-15 (.400) with two extra-base hits against Martin Perez.
