Friday night bring us a big 14-game DFS slate on FanDuel. There is a nice mix of stud pitching options to go along with some solid mid-range options to allow you to go a variety of ways when constructing your lineup. However, since there is a wide variety of value hitters to choose from at most positions, I’ll be looking to pay up for pitching, at least in cash games, while saving some money on my bats.
As always, be sure to pay close attention to the lineups when they are released and monitor the weather leading up to game time. Max Scherzer (WAS): $12,200 vs. MIA
Since a small hiccup against the Marlins back on July 7 allowing four runs with just three strikeouts, Max Scherzer has been rolling again over his last six starts with a 1.76 ERA and 31.9% strikeout rate. He’ll get his chance at redemption against the Marlins on Friday night facing a weaker lineup than he took on a month ago. The Marlins have a league-worst wOBA (.254) and wRC+ (57) over the last 30 days against right-handed pitching. Friday’s matchup against Scherzer isn’t going to help those numbers making Scherzer by far the top play on the mound and a cash game lock.
