Despite a good-sized 12-game MLB slate on Wednesday night, there weren’t a lot of players that jumped off the page during my research. When this happens, I tend to stick to using a lot of the mid-priced options to build a balanced lineup as there aren’t any must-have studs or sure-thing value options to plug in. The MLB DFS days are dwindling, so you might as well jump in the pool one last time before the Boys of Summer are done.
As always, be sure to pay close attention to the lineups when they are released and monitor the weather leading up to game time. Pitchers
Chris Sale (BOS): $11,100 vs. BAL
Sale is still working his pitch count upwards to prepare for the postseason. He has gone from 26 to 42 to 73 pitches over his last three starts, so look for that progression to continue bringing him into the 90-pitch range on Wednesday against the Orioles. That is more than enough pitches to dispatch of the Orioles lineup, after all, it only took him 68 pitches to throw five scoreless innings against them with 12 strikeouts a little over a month ago. A perfect tune-up spot for Sale who is over $2,000 cheaper than Jacob deGrom.
