IDP Waiver Wire Pickups: Week 2 (2018 Fantasy Football)

John Orr discusses weekly dynasty IDP waiver pickups during each week of the NFL season.

I’m going to give you a few adds each week for you to think about and consider. I play in deep dynasty IDP leagues so my recommendations will be based on that. You won’t get the big name adds from me because they are probably owned already. Let’s get ready for Week 2!

Defensive Linemen

Deatrich Wise (NE)
There was a solid pass rush generated from the Patriots front line in Week 1. With much of Houston’s focus on Trey Flowers, it left Wise capable of putting up some numbers of his own, and he delivered. I’m expecting weekly success from him and that New England defense. If you’re thin on your defensive front, toss in a waiver claim this week.

Dalvin Tomlinson (NYG)
He looked good! With an ownership percentage of just 2.3, there’s a good chance he’s available in your league. I think the G-Men will continue to improve and expectations can be higher for their defensive front. With such a strong first week, I genuinely expect some good stats weekly, and he is worthy of a spot on your roster.

Linebackers

Matt Milano (BUF)
What a bargain sitting around on waivers. This would be my top target this week. You’re getting a three-down player who is active and good! In deeper leagues, he should be rostered, but with such a low ownership percentage, make sure you double check. He will be a weekly start in leagues that start more than three LBs.

Von Miller (DEN)
This is a solid add in your big play scoring formats, but also a good option in any format. The weekly scores can fluctuate, but he will put up stats, and that gives you a chance to win.

Josh Bynes (ARI)
This player should have been scooped up last week, but still is available in many leagues. This thumper will put some good tackle numbers and gives you a chance weekly to score well. If you’ve got some dead wait on your benches, don’t hesitate to unload some of it for this guy.

Anthony Hitchens (KC)
Here’s another player that should not be available who’s sitting around for you to grab this week. He was a favorite addition for me and will continue to hold his spot as an LB2 for me in my rankings. The guy put up 15 total tackles! Get. Him. In. Your. Lineup.

Kenny Young (BAL)
This kid took advantage of his reps and stood out in the blowout against the Buffalo Bills. Keep your eyeballs on him and go sign him up in case he continues to get the snaps. He was able to get pressure and finished with one sack and a tackle for a loss, along with four tackles. Keeping him off the field will be hard.

Defensive Backs

Xavien Howard (MIA)
I like his upcoming matchup with the New York Football Jets this week. Looking into my crystal ball, I can see some tackles and a batted pass in his future. If you’re into streaming your corners, he would be a good bet.

Get after it and good luck this week!
